Canyon Relaunches Spectral:ON and Torque:ON With a New 800 Wh Battery
I have bought 2 years ago. I love this geometry and concept but some improvements:
- shimano ep8 and components: i broke ep8 during first months (canyon change it for free - 1 month without bike). Next torque on must bring other stronger/ quiter options like pollini or DJ. In my opinion slx components are not adequate for this bike - change top saint or other brands
- battery issue - doesn't needs presentation - some months without bike (5-6 months...) After that time canyon sends "new" 900kw battery that I bring today (apparently seems like last one) In my opinion is not necessary this power in this bike and I prefer something less heavy (450-500 battery is enough for me). This point allows to have an slim frame and more light bike to dance with it in the downhills/air.
- Engine cover . i have broke 3-4 cover - it would be designed to open to the oposite direction and with a more strong system - not with a singe "rubber flange"
- wheels: I broke the rear tire and hub too soon. They need rims designed for downhill and electric drivetrains.
I should also say that with a different bike I'd have other things, that's clear. Maybe you could buy a €15,000 Unno Mith and be more satisfied, but overall I'd buy it again. In fact, I'm waiting for Canyon to improve all this and release a similar model but more robust and lighter (like the Spectral On-Fly, but more downhill-oriented).
Generally speaking, Canyon's response, although a bit slow, has been good. Anyway, I'd at least like to see a lighter battery to reduce weight. I never finish the 900kWh battery.
