Video: Helmet Safety Comparison
After having a read on this I haven't seen anyone make this point.
The outside material of your helmet makes a big difference too, plastic is better for smaller multiple rebound hits, where as carbon fiber and fiberglass is better for single large hits.
I will attempt to find the study I read a few years back on this, it was focused primarily on motorbike helmets, but the conclusions factor across, which is expensive top of the range isn't always better.

*NEW* HED Ardenes Plus LT wheel set
$700 GBPI bought these to build up a sportive bike but due to the fact that I'm now trying to raise funds to build a house these are up for grabs.
It's £100off the price they are from HED, They have only ever been out of the box for me to look at when I first got them.
To go with this build I have a brand new boxed 6800 Groupset. I could do both for £1000
I move between Plymouth and Saddleworth (Manchester), the wheels are currently up north.
Postage in mainland UK £5, elsewhere I would have to get a quote.
