medium Bike Friday Pocket Rocket 9S Ultegra

$1600 CAD
Here we go again! A recently received Bike Friday. Medium (top tube equivalent of about 54cm) 9S Ultegra components. great shape. If you travel somewhat frequently and if you ride, you should have a Bike Friday. - You'll know you'll have a bike ready to ride. - you won't waste time searching out a rental and then arranging pickup and drop off. - you'll save money (on rental cost and airline shipping charges) With a little practice you can setup and repack in about 5minutes. Seriously. (thought the first time you try you will be frustrated as anything.) Don't let the small 20" 451 wheels fool you. This is no toy. If you didn't look down, you would think you were on a traditional high-performance road bike. (but you'll never know until you try. Come for a test ride.) This one is equivalent to about a 56cm but adjusts up or down a full frame size (so could suit a rider.... 5'7" to 5'11 or 6') This model has a curved fixed stem (though it actually comes with two, one of which gives a longer "Stretch") 9S Ultegra Crank is 56/48 (for serious hills you might want to swap on a compact crank, easily done.) wheel base is long 110cm Here's the fit. As shown in the photo the saddle height (from centre of the bottom bracket) is 76.5cm and could be raised or lowered about... 5cm The bars so the Drop) are 6cm lower.and could be adjusted +/-3cms Saddle is in the middle of the rails The fit is as follows (see the attached sketch with metrics marked): With Stem 1 installed: Stretch 1A (front of seapost to middle of stem clamp): 58.5cm Stretch 1B (front of seapost to valley on brake hoods: 70cm Stretch 2A (tip of saddle to middle of stem clamp): 46cm Stretch 2B (tip of saddle to valley on brake hoods: 58.5cm the second stem extends all these metrics by 2.5cm (1 inch) so stretches the bars out 1 inch further. a replacement stem can be ordered from the manufacturer, Bike Friday. weight is 10.5kg. not bad for a steel bike (excl. pedals) both shifters are missing their name plates, which doesn’t affect function and are relatively easy to find and best of all, it fits into a suitcase (not included but easily findable) and flies for free! rear cassette low gear is about 26teeth. this bike is in very very good condition. for comparison a 10S Tiagra Pocket Rocket new is $2200 USD ( about $2950 CAD) an 11S Ultegra Pocket Rocket is $2995 USD ( or $3900 CAD)

Bike Friday Pocket Rocket XL

$1600 CAD
And now for something completely different, a high performance folding road bike. There are three frustrations facing travelling cyclists. 1) Just not having your road bike with you 2) Not being able to arrange for a decent rental where you go. 3) the expense of flying your bike (generally $50-150 each leg) if you do take your bike. a Bike Friday Pocket Rocket is the solution. don't let the small 20" 451 wheels fool you. This is no toy. If you didn't look down, you would think you were on a traditional high-performance road bike. This one is equivalent to about a 61-62cm frame with a 59cm effective top tube. You have to be TALL to ride this. (I'm 6'1" with long legs and it first me well.) the headtube can adjust up and down about 11 cm. the seattube is very adjustable. and you can swap on a shorter stem to down fit it (the photo shows it with a 110mm stem.) 9S Ultegra (except for the front derailluer which is Sora.) Crank is 53/39 (for serious hills you might want to swap on a compact crank, easily done.) wheel base is long 110cm as shown in the photo the saddle is at 83cm, bars are 9cm lower. saddle is in the middle of the rails tip of saddle to middle of stem clamp: 61cm tip of saddle to hollow on brake hoods: 75cm weight is 10.5kg. not bad for a steel bike (excl. pedals) the LH shifter is missing its cover. easy to find. doesn’t affect function. and best of all, it fits into a suitcase (not included but easily findable) and flies for free! rear cassette low gear is about 26teeth. this bike is in EXCELLENT dare I say Near New condtion. for comparison a 10S Tiagra Pocket Rocket new is $2200 USD ( about $2950 CAD) an 11S Ultegra Pocket Rocket is $2995 USD ( or $3900 CAD)
