@ocnlogan: Free Refresh in the first year includes a pedal spa treatment (I like that lol) we replace bearings, bushings, and seals for sure and then any other parts that are damaged or showing excessive wear (spindles, pins, etc etc). You are correct you just pay to get them to us and back and we cover the rest. Then every year after we will send you a set of bearings and bushings for free + cost of shipping (like $4 anywhere in the US). We also offer paid Full Refreshes for people who don't want to do the work themselves where we install all new parts from a rebuild kit. You can definitely get around using our service tool by using the spindle to insert the bearings, a 13mm tap to remove the bushing, and a socket to install the bushing, but the service tool really smooths out the process and prevents the bushing from cracking during install. You are more than welcome to swing by the shop. Tenet is a legit small operation that I run out of the shop behind my house, but I have people by all the time. Obviously I can't give you an unbiased opinion, but we test all of our pedals (as well as most other parts we make) at EFBE against their Tri-Test Gravity standard. Its honestly super grueling and there is a reason most brands don't test against it. To summarize as short as possible, Tri-Test is the standard ISO test elevated and then they add in a fatigue test which is where most mountain bike products fail. For pedals specifically to pass an ISO test the spindle needs to pass 100,000 cycles while weighted. This is a great simulation for a seated rider, but we all know that is not how we as mountain bikers ride bikes. Fatigue replicates a cycling load on the pedal over a long period of time (check out the GIF in this article, thats a Fatigue load test). Most pedals will fail due to fatigue instead of an overload or impact. Hope we can make it onto a build of yours in the future!
