Nov 27, 2014Beautiful Custom Iron Horse Sunday
$1999 USDUp for sale is a custom Iron Horse Sunday. I bought the frame off of Craigslist in September and had it taken to Central Mass Powder Coating where they chemically stripped the frame and powder coated it the neon yellow color you see. Pictures barely do the color justice, it is absolutely beautiful in person. Proceeded to build the bike up from there. Rode the bike three times at Highland and now I am selling it to finance other projects. In an ideal world I would be absolutely keeping it because the bike absolutely rips. Bike was meticulously taken care of and cleaned after every use. The frame is a size medium. Bike weighs in at 39.8 lbs. Spec list below:
I believe it’s an ’08 frame – Has one small dent in the bottom bracket seen in the pictures and the rear swingarm has scratches near the derailleur area from going down once. The scratches didn’t even go all the way through the paint, very minimal. One of the hex bolts tightening the rear axle has also been sheared. It is not a cause of concern though as the rear axle is still 100% secure.
2011 RockShox Boxxer World Cup – One miniscule nick on the stanchion you can see in the pictures, fork is 100% besides that. Nick causes no leaks. Fork has 18 hours of riding on it since purchasing, previous owner had it re-oiled before selling it to me.
2008 Fox DHX 5.0 – previous owner had it serviced by push industries before selling it to me. Has some visible wear on it. 100% functional
Raceface Turbine bars
Nukeproof lock on grips
Transition direct mount stem
Cane Creek 40 zero stack headset
Shimano Zee M640 front brake, Zee levers, 203mm rotor
Shimano XT M785 rear brake + lever, 180mm rotor
Shimano Zee Shadow+ 10 speed derailleur + Zee shifter- Derailleur has a one scratch on it from the same fall that scratched the rear swingarm. Still 100% functional
Front tire: Mavic 721 rim laced on Laser Disk Super Duty hubs. Spokes alternate silver and black to match the stem
Rear tire: Laser Disk Super Duty rear wheelset – Received the wheelset from a friend, rim shows scratches but no dents. Both front and rear rims are true. The rear has a cracked bearing in the hub.
Raceface Evolve seat post
Deity seat clamp
Truvativ Descendant crankset
Transition flats
DMR Viral chain guide
Shimano XT M771 10 speed cassette
Maxxis Minion Front tire on front and rear
Derailleur cable guide is also banged up near the rear swingarm, but I am including a new one. No loss in derailing performance
As you can tell from my description I am completely transparent with the condition of this bike. Be wary of ads with a three sentence description. What I’ve described here is exactly how the bike is. Bike also comes with dw-link extras and bearings. If you would like more pictures feel free to contact me. The bike was an absolute blast to ride at Highland and easily soaked up everything. Text or private message, no phone calls please.
