I have my loved custom trek. The bike has been well cared for and rides very well. The reason im selling is being it has simply become time for a 180mm bike. The story behind the bike is it was a 2008 Specialized Stumpjumper until the frame snapped because of a bubble in the metal. I spent over a year dealing the Specialized and gave up hope, i took everything i could off and put it on a Trek frame. I wasnt able to pull the headset or BB from the stumpy frame so i just went with what i had. i dont know much about them. but the BB is smooth. i would be happy to trade for another bike, a mac, a canon camera, what ever. This bike has had better days. The only problem with the bike is that the original frame is broken... This is a $2000bike, with another $300bike. its a great deal. Other than that everything has been well cared for. The frame broke on a boulder trail, no dents. It was manufacturing defect and specialized refused to replace it under there extended 5 year warranty there is on the rear triangle. The frame has been broken for about a year (10/11 months.) And wanting to continue to ride, I switched the components to an older trek frame. The other bike was the POS i had before the stumpy. It is a hard tail trek, kind of a DH bike I guess but it?s a joke. There was a sticker on the fork that basically said don?t use this fork for DH, AM, FR, XC, and DJ so I?m not quite sure what the bike was for, but i was able to move most all components but the headset and crankshaft from one frame to the other. Currently the bike is assembled as a hard tail dirt jump bike but i can have it changed when i get back from vacation back onto the broken stumpy frame. I will include all my parts from both bikes. It?s a $2100 and a $500 bike. I also have a pair of $60WTB DH 2.6 tires. There basically unused and are worth $120 together. I?ll be willing to through them in if you have a way to use them. All you would have to do to fix the bike is but a new seat stay, I don?t know if you can buy it separate from the chain stay but i know that you can buy a new rear triangle for not to much. The trek is a SMALL and the Specialized is a MEDIUM Neither of the bikes are old. There are no dents in the frames at all (but there is the frame fail.) everything is in good condition. The only reason i am selling my stumpy is because i simply need something more aggressive to ride. I'll be happy to answer any questions you have. Ill post more pics within a day or two. These bikes are great. I bought the stumpy brand new from the specialized dealer and am the only rider. i take good care and know how to service my bikes :) I would love to trade the bikes for another all mountain or free ride bike.
