FMBA Makes Changes to the FMB World Tour
Dirt Jumping is far from dead, it is just moving in a different direction than the organization and essentially the taxation that is the FMB; and why wouldn't it? For anyone other than the top 10 riders the FMB is not worth even trying for. Anyone in North America without huge financial support might as well move overseas if they want to attend more than a couple contests per year. Concepts like Fest Series and independent films will be where a ton of riders gravitate to in the future. If the FMB wants to evolve they need to have separate divisions; North American and European with ideally an equal amount of gold and silver events. Then a finals series where the top ranked athletes from each division ride against each other. Sort of like a play offs sort of set up. Idk I'm just rambling. But seriously for such a large organization this shit is scattered as hell.

Red Bull District Ride celebrates comeback with Martin Soderstrom
This event is one of many reasons why our sport is so goofy and confusing to so many people. Scaffold and plywood in the city streets is considered mountain biking? This industry is whack as fuck. I think its cool that companies like red bull support athletes and put on large events, but I don't think bringing this particular event back is doing us any favours. Why not push to make slopestyle a permanent part in X Games where the sport can be recognized for what it should be among other mainstream extreme sports? Or add another crankworx Festival? Make another event similar to Rampage? So many better things could be done. There are like 5 fmb events in North America and most of them are large courses that are invite only gold/diamond events. How's the average kid supposed to be able to start himself off in the competition scene if he has to fly overseas to compete in a bronze event? This shit makes no sense.
