Custom Crust Malocchio Build - 55cm Extra Medium

$4000 USD
Hi All! We are Sandman Cyclery a custom bike build shop based out of Chicago, IL. Today we have a super fun build! A Crust Malocchio 55cm steel frame. Crust Bikes is an awesome steel frame manufacturer based out of Virginia. Check them out if you haven't already! Bike Info Frame: Crust Malocchio - 55cm Extra Medium BB: Velo Orange Cranks/Chainring: Blue Lug - RMC II - 40t Seat Post: Velo Orange Stem: Velo Orange - 110mm / 6 degree Handle Bar: Velo Orange - Porteur Headset: Velo Orange - 1" threaded Brakes: Velo Orange - Grand Cru Brake Lever: Velo Orange - Grand Cru Shifter: Microshift 11spd bar end R Derailleur: Microshift 11spd RD-M865M XCD Cassette: Microshift 11spd 11-42 Saddle: Brooks B17 Bar Tape: Brooks microfiber Fenders: Simworks Honjo Chain Gaurd - Velocolour Wheel Info (Hand Built) Hubs: Velo Orange - 32h Rims: Velocity - Chukker 700c 32h Spokes: DT Revolution Nipples: Simworks brass Tires: Continental - Gatorskin Hardcase 32c Builder Notes: Fenders - the clearance for 32s is very very tight. Smaller 32s like the Gatorskins currently installed do not rub, however bigger 32s, especially something with tread, might have some slight rubbing. You shouldn't have any issues with 28s Noise - this isn't the quietest bike in the world. A steel chain guard and tight clearance brass fenders will do that to a bike :) I've added some padding to the chain guard to help reduce that noise. However, if you are sensitive to your bike being a little clanky, which is totally understandable, then this one probably won't be enjoyable to ride. These noises aren't constant. The fender noise comes from rocks and other debris getting briefly stuck in them. Smaller tires would help reduce that. The chain guard noise is due to chain slap. Unfortunately, there's not a whole that can be done about it. It's the trade-off for being able to wear any pants without worrying about rolling them up :) Fitment - This bike should comfortably fit anyone between 5' 8" and 5' 11". Some parts may need to be swapped out for taller riders. Brooks Saddle - If you haven't ridden a Brooks saddle before, there is a break-in period! This saddle will not be comfortable for the first few rides. But it will get better and eventually it will be the one of the most comfortable saddles you've ever used! Bars/Shifter - These bars will take a bit of getting used to if you haven't ridden drop bars before however if you have, these will feel very similar. The bar end shifter may also take a bit of getting used to but you'll find the tricks pretty quickly. Parts Adjustments: We are willing to work with you if you are wanting to switch out certain parts due to fitment or other reasons. We can also add on other accessories such as bags and racks if you are interested. Payment/Shipping: As per pink bike rules, payment will be done through PAYPAL goods and services only. Shipping will be done through bike flights and the cost will be added to the final price prior to payment. If there are any other questions please feel free to ask! We can also provide additional pictures. Thanks for taking a look!
