Mar 24, 2012Turner Rail
$350 GBP2004 Turner Rail, mine for a few years now. Sadly had nowhere near as much use as it should have, what with university and riding much more cross country and road.
For those people who don't know about Rails, they were made in very limited numbers in 2004 and 2006 (I believe) as 4X frames. Therefore there are very few of these about. Rides fantastically downhill, beautiful in the air. I've run mine with U-Turn Pikes, and it handles best at between 120mm and 140mm travel. I've seen pictures of these with Fox 36s though, but I can't comment on the performance with long forks.
Although it's an '04, it's built to last, and as such is pretty heavy. Not noticeable going downhill, but that combined with the very short seattube makes climbing very hard (having said that, I did spend a week riding it round Welsh trail centres, and it didn't kill me). This is the main reason for sale. Everywhere I ride requires some uphill, some singletrack, and being at Uni in the Midlands meaning I really need something slightly lighter, and with an uninterrupted seattube. If I had a downhill spot on my doorstep, or a local uplift service, there is no way I would be selling this.
Small frame size (only one size available)
115mm travel via Fox Float shock (with the old large capacity can, believe it could probably do with a service)
1.5" headtube (FSA Pig DH reducer headset included)
135mm rear end
27.2 seatpost (no clamp or post included)
68mm BB (I believe).
Any questions please ask.

I'd like around £350 posted, but all offers considered. Could also be tempted by a swap/part ex for something lighter with uninterrupted seattube. Based in Hertfordshire at the moment for any viewings.
