2013 Western Open BC Cup DH

We are very happy with how the project turned out. We put a good amount of work into it from coming up with the script, to writing the music, to shooting it over four days, and spending a whole week editing it, so after all that it was great to see all of the positive feedback across the board. We figured that if we were able to tell the great story that we had to share, people would, and did find it relatable and maybe even inspiring.

As mentioned in our video, we've clearly got no downhill tracks within a reasonable distance from us, so the first thing that we're looking forward to is being able to put our bikes up on ski-lifts and ride some real downhill tracks. Kevin has actually only ridden the Collegiate Nationals course at Angel Fire, NM this last October, and never has been on another downhill track in his life.

Next, we're definitely looking forward to getting professionally coached by a mountain biking legend. We've grown into the sport watching Chris on videos like 'Earthed' and reading interviews with him in bike mags over the years, so it'll be pretty great to meet, let alone be instructed by him and his crew! I know that we'll be able to take away a lot of great things from the clinic, from learning how to clear our heads better before a race run, to what we should be doing while on the track.

As if all of this isn't enough, the fact that we'll get put up at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort in Golden is just the icing on the cake. Taking in the scenery up there is going to be amazing for us, as it's a maybe once a year if that, that we get to even see mountains. We haven't even arrived in BC yet, and so far, we've already received amazing hospitality from KHMR, and Stephen. Since we don't own downhill bikes in Florida, we will be using M9's direct from Intense, which Stephen arranged for us, and because we will be flying into Calgary, he's even offered to pick us up from the airport. We could not be more stoked about not having to worry about renting a car, or figuring out what we're going to ride for the weekend, so it's really going to be luxury treatment when we're able to just show up and ride as hard as we can.

Saying that we're looking forward to this experience doesn't scratch the surface, and we can't wait to thank everyone in person for this once in a lifetime opportunity. -2013 Intense Weekend Winners
