Video: Spot's Carbon Leaf Spring - The Explainer
@Chris97a: From the article: “They used the leaf spring to tune how the suspension performs in the middle part of its travel” But, because of the bearing rotating the leaf only flexes at the start and finish of travel. In the middle range of travel the leaf is not flexing at all and is no different from a solid piece of metal rotating around the bearing. So claiming the leaf tunes the middle of the travel doesn’t seem to make sense. Unless the path of the upper link is lined up with the path of the lower link only at the start and finish of travel. In that case, as the paths changed through the middle of travel some forces would be applied to the leaf. But if that’s the case then it was not well explained in the article.

Even if he was riding the bike at 50% sag the frame shouldn’t fail off of a 3 ft drop. And spot saying it’s user error is a far cry from a fair explanation. Alex rides bikes probably like 200+ days a year. Regardless of you personal opinion of him he, nor most riders with even less experience, isn’t dumb enough to hop on a bike for a big ride in Utah without making sure the sag is at least in the right ballpark. The frame being previously damaged because it’s a demo bike is far more believable and no ones fault. Either way, spot handled the situation like shit.

I see bearings on one side of the carbon leaf.. So, unless they somehow changed the way the bearings move at different points in the travel than all the rotational forces will be going through the bearings and not the leaf... making the leaf pointless. This smells like BS marketing. Also, the current top comments on this article look completely contrived.

KS Lev DX 125

$75 USD
This is a KS Lev DX externally routed dropper. 125mm drop. 31.6mm seat tube diameter. These things go for around 300 new, I wanted a bigger post and don’t use this one so I’m selling it cheap. It functions great. No scratches on the stanchion. It doesn’t come with a cable, cable housing or lever. The small plastic cover for the external actuator mechanism doesn’t stay on very well. Price is firm, shipping is free.

Ask Pinkbike: Incognito Cycling Shoes, Increasing Brake Power, Tire Width & Saddle Suggestions
I would like to point out that wearing you ski boots at the bar long after the lifts stop turning is, in fact, great style.
