when my iro angus got stolen i was devastated by the loss and immedeately frustrated with walking as well as public transit.
then i tried mash transit. my local cinelli slinger strada cycles had this huge mash that the shops owner had ridden on the track a handfull of times. when he heard my tale of woe he offered me the frameset and some campy cranks for a steal of a deal.
i had it kitted out for dirt cheap by my regular mechanics at superchampion and i was off.
the bolt weighs 18 lbs with velcro straps and alex wheels kinda setup.
i thought it would be the worst kind of hipster deathtrap but i was instantly proven wrong. i find this bike turns on a dime, ive avoided many serious collisions simply because of this bikes steering and cornering abilities. it still manages to go straight as an arrow at high speeds and be very very comfortable for 2 hour rips through the countryside.
the stopping is a whole other level with this machine. the combination of being perched over the rear axle and the massive ynot straps make instant road rippling skids facile.
ride quality is massively smooth. im guessing its the carbon fork that makes it so but bumps potholes sewer lids and speedbumps are eaten and barely registered. once again this bike is shockingly stable; in situations where i felt i should have gone over the bars, the geometry of the bike completely compensated for lack of balance and deviations in the road.
heres my compaints:
its loud: any creaks are amplified and due to lack of drainage holes its a creaky bike most of the time
its flashy. its like riding a bright green and white billboard. the histogram has a way cooler suit.
