I have two (2) brand NEW, never opened Continental Grand Prix 4000 S 700x25. I bought the wrong size so here they are for sale. Very popular tire with endless praising reviews and really doesn't need much explanation but here's the skinny from Continental. One of the few tires that miraculously delivers on all fronts, the GP 4000 S combines speed and amazing handling with impressive puncture resistance and extended tread life. The result is one of the fastest, most durable, and best riding tires available. It's a funny story--the Grand Prix 4000 S is essentially identical to the black version of the standard Grand Prix 4000 model. The "S" actually stands for "Schwartz," the German word for Black, which is fitting because like the black GP 4000, the GP 4000 S benefits from Continental's top rubber compound, an exclusive material which cannot be produced in colors. They call it Black Chili, and it's an incredibly dense rubber, made up of particles roughly ten times smaller than those typically used in bike tires. This state-of-the art material increases a tire's ability to conform to (grip) the road, while also increasing durability. The Black Chili compound is also more resistant to UV rays, which contribute to cracking and premature tire wear. To further durability, the 4000 S also features a Vectran puncture protection barrier. Originally developed by NASA in the construction of both space shuttles and suits, Continental has patented Vectran's use in bike tires, which allows their tires to remain extremely light, while offering tremendous puncture protection. The Grand Prix 4000 S features three fabric plies for a total of 330 TPI, has a Kevlar folding bead, a max inflation pressure of 120 PSI, and a weight of 220g Take them home today for the fair price of $100 for the pair.
