I've always shot RAW and used Phase One's Capture1 Pro to process . These days most of the RAW converters do similar things, and its a matter of personal preference or what you're used to in terms of which one you use, though I do like the files I get from C1. I have used Photoshop intermittently over the years, but the raw processors now do most of what I ever needed photoshop for, and I avoid it 99.9 percent of the time. There are far better photoshop operators around than me for anything that needs serious photoshopping, and I leave it to them!
