Amidst fiercely competitive racing, two outstanding athletes stood out from the rest - Gustav Wildhaber and Delia Da Mocogno. Gustav Wildhaber, one of the most successful enduro mountain bikers Switzerland has ever seen, has his eyes set on winning the overall ranking of the 2023 Swiss Enduro Series. This time out, he completely lived up to his role as favorite. With impressive speed and almost flawless riding, Wildhaber overcame the challenging trails of Leukerbad and secured first place.

Most notably, Wildhaber took 52 seconds off Basil Weber, the reigning Swiss champion.

Weber had a crash on the first stage but still managed to secure second place.

Third place went to Mirco Widmer, last year's winner in Leukerbad. Wildhaber won every stage and showed his physical dominance especially on the uphills. With this impressive victory Wildhaber asserts his claim to the 2023 Swiss Enduro Series overall title.

Besides Gustav Wildhaber, there was another remarkable performance that thrilled spectators. Delia Da Mocogno, an up-and-coming rider, competed in her second Swiss Enduro Series race after the 2021 Swiss Championship in Lötschental and struck gold. Sending a strong message to some absentees of the Elite Women’s field, Delia mastered the challenging stages of Leukerbad with exceptional endurance and skill, securing first place.

She won every stage. This success marks a significant milestone in her career and points to a promising future in enduro racing.

Second was Ysaline van Kampen who, after an impressive ride, secured her very first Swiss Enduro Series podium.

A race favourite, Claudia Grassi, who is no stranger to the podium ended up in third position.

The Swiss Enduro Series in Leukerbad was the start of this year's Swiss Enduro Series. The rest of the story will unfold at the beginning of August on the eleventh and twelfth in Laax. SES Leukerbad attracted riders, fans, and media from all over Switzerland and neighboring countries, offering them an unforgettable weekend full of adrenaline and excitement.

..the SES is a great race format and the locations are unreal. Its just a shame the our Swiss Enduro guys can't mix it up with the Pro's like Rude, Melamed and co. I still still remember back in the day when Réne Wildhaber used to get great results...seems like the focus is more XC and Women's DH.

Surely didn't help attracting more talent (even the local ones) that the EDR in Leogang was the same week.

That being said, I fully agree that the SES would deserve wider recognition, especially for all the effort they put in for the up and coming riders!

Maybe there was just not enough support behind these disciplines until now compared to all the nations with great results in DH and EN? IMO that's exactly what the SES is here for: To support the Swiss Enduro community and build a solid foundation for the next generation of racers. Wink

The SES format is good but for me it's a bit of a pity that all the races are in bikeparks with very few climbing involved (500-1000m max). I'd love if there was a grand finale without any lift assist.
