Scott-Velosolutions Gets a Makeover
So if Scott VS are running the Aaron Gwin Brakes, will Gwinny be on support if something goes wrong? On a more serious note, ist always refreshing seeing big Teams changing things up..for example the GFORT withe DVO. The bike industry is full of great products and tech...letting pro riders do the R6D for those companies (especially on WC Level) will always be a plus in my book. Good on you Scott and all the best für 2018...

Intense Announces Lower Retail Prices and Hybrid Direct-to-Customer Sales
Can someone answer this question? With all these "direct to customer"sales going on and when Intense mentioned the customer will be linked to the shop eith a service contract..when repairs have to be made(when the bike is still under warranty)...will the customer be willing to pay for the repairs? The way I see it,the dealer always has some playing space because of his margin...people who buy bikes from the shop automatically get calculated into that margin. Now,that the bike was sold/sent directly the customer,he will be obligated to pay for repairs because no mechanic in this day and age will work for free. Right? If the customer get linked to a shop with a service contract...what terms are in those contracts? My experience is certain things are covered by warranty..and the rest I will have to pay. A good dealer will recognise his customers and give you a good deal...

Giant Reign Advanced 2018 - First Ride
Thats absolute rubbish...I have been on the Reign since 2015 and never has that been an issue. I live in Switzerland where the climbs can be long and steep and have never had an issue with suspension bob(for God sakes, its a full suspension bike)and in my experience, a little movement is key to so that the tires always stay in contact with the gravel, fire road type of conditions. To stiff and the wheel spins out, can only be compensated with low tire pressures. Alot of the time riders have no idea how suspension setup works, some run 20-25% / and some ride 30-35%. Depends on where you live and what you ride. Almost every shock has some sort of lockout, right? Now to the uphill performance, we live in a time where there is 11 and 12 Speed drivetrains with changeable chainrings..I'd bet mounting Eagle on a DH bike will get you up the hill... I for one do not want a carbon back end...after a season of riding with no issues. For me, Aluminium rear Ends make sense. As an experienced mechanic, I have seen quite a bit and most of these issues are due to lack of greasing, tightening and just generally checking the bike once and a while...

Giant Reign Advanced 2018 - First Ride
C'mon guys..give Giant a break. The actual fact that they make amazing bikes and this is just a prime example. No crazy spec, no swappable 27.5+/29 bull****, no marketing mumbo jumbo, just a awesome Enduro bike that works. Some brands are spec'ing Star Trak handlebar/stem combos for more bucks. The way I see it is that the market is complicated enough..this is exactly what the riders of these bikes Need. Simplicity Looks great, will ride great...and offer enough models with a good spec and pricing is fair.

The Perfect Season: Rachel Atherton - Video
Well, Tracy Moseley stepped down from the International Enduro Stage and only competing in some races...maybe Rachel should try her luck at 1-2 races this year(kinda like Sam Hill did) and see what the result will be. The Brits have alot of the worlds best riders(Hart, Gee etc), maybe a top woman Brit in Enduro is the way to go. By result I mean if she finds it a challenge too. I am pretty sure she has the fitness and Stamina to be right up there, Trek will get more coverage and I think alot off audiences and PB Readers will agree that ist sometimes boring always seeing the same Person win(have totally the utmost respect for her and what shes accomplished)..lets see what happens now that Ragot is back.
