I'm an art teacher in Janesville, I'm a Christ follower (I go to Blackhawk in Madison), I've been riding and racing seriously since I was 14-15, and right now I can't imagine anything I'd rather do then ride trails (DJ style, not MTB style :-))

Review: SRAM's New G2 Ultimate Brakes
I just got back from Windrock. I have the 4 pot XT's and they worked great! The one thing I noticed was a lot of other riders with skidding through steep sections and around corners. Perhaps its the way I brake, but I was able to modulate my brakes in all situations so that I wouldn't skid ... but they still got me down from speed if I needed it. I have a mix of those brakes and Saints on my bikes, I love the lever feel, look, and how they modulate (including for doing manuals on small and big wheeled bikes). Maybe SRAM stuff is up to snuff, but I'll stick with Shimano.

Tonic Magnum CX (Road, Gravel, Tri, CX, etc)

$1800 USD
Custom ordered from Tonic Fabrications. Awesome orange paint job, amazing attention to detail in its construction. I bought the bike and a month later did a full Ironman on it. I then used it for commuting to work for a year, and have used it on the trainer in the basement the last couple of winters. It is actually a Cyclocross bike, which I used for one race (so it has tons of space for wide tires if you want to do gravel stuff or CX). Build: 56cm frame (Frames start around $2000, whole bike was $4000 originally) Enve carbon fork Thomson stem and post Selle SMP saddle ... I have a couple other options if that doesn't seem like your typle Full Shimano Ultegra drivetrain Avid bb7 road brakes Chris King Headset and Hubs HED Belgium rims Ritchey bars Tires are also up to you ... I have a lot of brand new CX tires I can include, otherwise I can leave road tires on it (pic has a trainer tire on the back which I'll swap out)

MIPS Says WaveCel Helmet Technology Falls 'Far Below' Bontrager's Injury Prevention Claims
I feel like MIPS just bit the hand that feeds it ... why pick a word battle with a company that is paying you to use your technology along side their own. It seems like a really bad move. Why would Trek/Bontrager continue to use your product if you are going to publicly bash them? It just seems like it could have been handled in a slightly better manner, and you could still salvage a relationship with a company that pays you a lot of money. Just my initial thought.
