For Sale is, what is essentially a brand new 2016 Surly Instigator. It's basically a 'semi-fatbike', big (but not ridiculous) 2.7 inch tires on the trials bike type wheels. Tall enough to make the wheels as tall as a 650B. I bought this bike to commute to work and occasionally use for rides at the weekend, I wanted something that was cheaper than a full on all mountain bike but still had the same build quality and ruggedness. Unfortunately it rarely gets used for even commuting and is just taking up space in my apartment so I have decided to sell. It has literally seen mud, off road ONCE... on a ride to Stoodley Pike near Hebden Bridge, the rest of the time I sometimes use it to trundle the 5 minutes to work in Leeds City Centre. Specs below taken from Surly's website: This thing is beefy and tough, yet quick-handling and well balanced. This new Instigator differs from the old one of course. Most notably, Instigator 2.0 is what we call 26+, designed to run 26˝ (559mm ETRTO) Rabbit Hole rims. At 50mm they’re quite a bit wider than standard MTB rims, and coupled with our 2.75˝ Dirt Wizard tires the overall diameter is about 27.5˝ (roughly 650b).
