Jun 7, 2012REDUCED Enduro SL Expert (medium, plus upgrades)
$2000 CAD2008 Specialized Enduro SL Expert, medium. Lovingly built up, meticulously maintained and cared for, and reluctantly put up for sale. This bike just doesn't get the use it deserves.
The Enduro SL is a terrific 6" bike for riding throughout Western Canada. It also did extremely well on two trips to Moab. Adjustable geometry to make it more maneuverable for trail riding or more low-slung for bike parks. While the stock configuration Enduro SL Expert is a fairly well-equipped bike, I made several upgrades that really make it shine. Most importantly, the wheelset has been significantly upgraded with Mavic 719 rims front and rear (much nicer and waaaaay tougher than the stock rims) and a 36h XT rear hub (again much better than stock: way tougher and a far smaller ratchet reset angle). The stock triple ring setup was changed out to a double with bashguard - This type of bike does not want a triple ring on it. The rear cassette was upgraded to an XT 11-34t unit, replacing the nasty boat anchor that came from the factory (what were they thinking?!). Also, the tires were swapped out to Nevegal DTC, which are definitely much better than stock for riding off of groomed hardpack. Other changes are aimed at saving a few grams here and there, bringing it down to 28.5lbs (actual weight). For a 6" bike this burly, you'd be very hard pressed to do better. Here is the full list of upgrades:
DMR lock-on grips
Terry Falcon Y saddle
Avid G3 160mm rear disc
22-36t front rings
Blackspire C4 bash guard
HG-93 chain
XT 770 11-34t cassette
Front wheel: Stock Specialized 25mm hub rebuilt into Mavic X719 rim with DT Comp spokes (32h)
Rear wheel: XT 770 hub built into Mavic X719 rim with DT Revolution spokes (36h)
Nevegal 2.35 DTC tires
Continental light tubes
Will also include an Avid hydraulic brake bleed kit.
Some early Enduro SLs suffered from suspension problems, but this is not one of them (suspension is still within warranty period, as well). That fork is ridiculously stiff! I'm more of an XC rider, so it really hasn't seen any hard use at all. I'm also fairly lightweight, so it's in great condition. I bought it new in the summer of 2008 but due to injury and work it has only seen two full summers of use. This bike was listed at $4180 new, and is in great condition. Easily over $500 worth of upgrades... I'm asking $2000 or best reasonable offer. I could move a bit on the price a bit if you didn't want the upgraded rear wheel and/or saddle. Contact me for details..
