The Whistler Mountain Bike Park's Early Season Trail Report
The side loaders also dont work if you have a linear shock like a Meta or Capra etc, the prongs leverage against the shock especially if you have a piggyback. Doesnt help too that the staff rip your bike on and off the side loader like theyre ripping bags of cement off a truck. Also awesome that WVG wont be operating for almost 2 months of the season. #profitisthepurpose

The Whistler Mountain Bike Park's Early Season Trail Report
A valid question: How did one of the busiest and most iconic bike parks put in a lift that damages bikes? The answer is VAIL. This lift was supposed to be installed at Silverlode but permit was cancelled due to it only increasing capacity and not accessible terrain. Stuck with a lift nobody wanted, they forced it onto Whistler Blackcomb under the guise of "increasing upload capacity" which it doesnt, it just moves the lines in winter up to Garbo. The reason the bike holders at such a big bike park suck is because they are the only holders spec'd for this chair that was never meant for WBP anyway. Vail made a calculation - even if the clips destroy forks and fenders, even if they side loaders leverage against linear mounted piggy back shocks, no one is not going to ride WBP on account and at the very least they will make bank of selling parts to replace the ones their equipment broke. There is also an attitude by WB (very evident in their SM replies) that the bike park is some kind of charitable community service they generously provide to us lowly mortals, and we should all just shut up and be grateful they charge $800CAD+ for a pass. Bottom line is Vail did what it needed to to not have a wasted lift for financial reasons and decided all WBP riders would complain but ultimately do nothing. This is the kind of thing that makes everyone despise Vail - profit is the only thing they care about, user experience is just a cost to them.

The Pinkbike Podcast: Episode 83 - Does Carbon Fiber Belong On Your Mountain Bike?
Carbon is for dentists and plebs. Not fit for use in a real mtb but cheap to produce. Fuck carbon. They need to start making carbon ebikes - its the same moron market.

Review: 2022 Devinci Spartan HP - The Sturdy Trail Smasher
Oligarchy, monopolies and plutocracy are the intended outcomes of capitalism, the 1% isnt a mistake, they are the point of the system, to reinforce the power of the 1%. You want sram and shimano to give up oligarchy? You'll have to pry it from their cold dead hands, the rich never give up wealth willingly.

FUCK CARBON. Its only fit for pro's who get a new frame thrown at them before the shitty carbon frame they are riding starts to crack. Carbon is for dentists, if you ride gravity, you want AL. Know why everything is carbon now? Its more profitable to the brands even though the bike are shit. Same reason every bike has a session linkage. Fuck carbon and fuck session linkages and fuck PB pushing both, along with ebikes.

17 Freeride Bikes from Proving Grounds 2021
@luckynugget: AY! I mean I live in BC so obvs above average but from the content I see online FR is still going hard in every corner of the world! I dont believe theres no market, there just trying to push us onto EN/DH rigs so they dont have to make FR bikes...in my opinion...

17 Freeride Bikes from Proving Grounds 2021
@zede: I hear you but it sucks being the guy trying to find a FR rig... ALSO pre-2010s FR and DH were super small markets, v few bike parks so pretty much just racers and feature building FR guys so a very specific market, YET at the time I could name you 15 bikes I would give a limb for, these days I'd be lucky to name 5! TBH I dont buy any economic necessity argument for needing to sell lots of consumer bikes - the brands are funnelling their cash into mainstream down specd crap to chase bucks, theyre not interested in chasing core rider dollars anymore when the suburbs are awash with dentists and yuppis who buy based off how light the bike is and how much carbon is on it....
