Specialized vs Santa Cruz vs Carbon Wasp - We Review Each Other's XC Bikes
@mmarkey21: Same here - but on a medium, there's not that much of a difference (Truffle is only 440 or 450 option for size M, Element 435) Maybe this is only a gamechanger for people over 6'?

Specialized vs Santa Cruz vs Carbon Wasp - We Review Each Other's XC Bikes
Question for Dario and Mike on the Truffle. Dario says the geo is "very unusual" for an XC bike, XL has V long wheelbase. Mike says it's a very big bike, almost enduro. Darios says more aggressive geo than some enduro, and (bit facetious but) partly believes it is the XC bike of the future. But the stats you list didn't seem that unusual? 120/120, 510 reach, 460 chainstay, 76 seat angle, 65.6 head angle, 620 stack (and 1285 wheelbase). Compared to my 2024 Rocky Mtn Element (position 3): 120/130 XL = 510 reach, ?435 chainstay, 76.5 seat angle, 65.5 head angle, 1265 wheelbase, 636 stack (and my size Med c90 comes in just under 26lbs w pedals w dual Rekons, and with a 140 is higher stack still and 65 head angle). Aside from a longer chainstay (rear center) on larger sizes (n/a on med size) and corresponding wheelbase, this hardly seems next level compared to other downcountry bikes (Epic 8 evo, Spur, Element, etc.)? What am I missing?

for the fun factor. Plus we're all getting older so it takes the edge off.

and what is up with the "fun country"? We all know the proper description is "downcountry"; why fight it.

yeah, over 32 pounds is outside of funcountry or whatever the cool kids are calling downcountry these days. Just call it something other than ...country.

First Ride: A Lot Has Changed About The New Revel Ranger
I've got a Rocky Mountain Element that would say otherwise. Saves over 4 lbs, climbs like a billy goat and crushes the downcountry lines. Specialized might also have something to say about that.

? 30 lb for top tier 120mm travel bike that climbs slightly sluggishly and is otherwise described as "pretty good in most places". How do you figure?

Specialized Partners with F1 Team & Plans for "Very Cool Collaborations"
@src248: but why provide bikes in the first place? Ridiculous. Just driving up the cost of bikes. Is the bike consumer dumb enough to see value in this collaboration?
