Derailleur vs Gearbox: Nicolai Ion 16 vs Ion GPI - Review
Quicker engaging in not a problem as You would only have to block freehub at the rear wheel. I had rear hub that was fully locked in my Cavalerie Anakin. Engagement wasnt an issue.

@Blablablup123: not sure was it the unsprung weight or suspension design free of chain growth but it really felt glued to the ground. Had a nice balance between smoothing the grnar and some pop to it. Closest I've rode would be spesh stump jumper (2015). I thought before I liked lound hubs but this thing was so silent (no chaing banging on the chinstays) I could focus so much more on tackling the rough ground , my jaw was dropping from disbelief :O Gears... I had a sram trigger shifter and this thing was changing them in an instand. You could engage low gears under nearly full power, but to change to high gears you had to take off nearly all the power from the pedals. Had a lot of drivetrain drag. I mean a LOT! After a normal spin with my (as fit as me) friends I was coming back tired, when they were still fresh. CS was amazing and I was really supprised. They offered me a new updated gearbox parts but after so many problems I had aith the frame (not only gearbox related) I had to say no as the season was coming and I had to have a bike would trust. If all the problems would be sorted it would be amazing bike as the geo was spot on and suspension worked really, really well (maybe with a slight brake jack). I wish the company all the best as they are only starting so all the problems can be ironed. Wanted to try the geometron with pinion but I thought I'll give gearbox bikes few more years for development :P
