Transition Scout Alloy

$1500 USD
Ill pay shipping!! I bought this bike thinking it would fit me but it’s to big. I’m 5’9 and it’s a little to big. This is the description from the guy I bought it from. My loss your gain. It’s in the box it was shipped to me. So ready to ship. I want to give you a breakdown of the bike with full disclosure. I want you to be sure you know what your’re getting and that you’ll be able to enjoy the bike! Are you familiar with the U.P. of Michigan where I am? The seasons are very on or off… meaning once the snow falls you’re not riding again until late april or may! I got this frame in the winter last year, built it up, rode it hard for a month and then didn’t really enjoy it that much. Instead I built and old hard tail back up with the parts and then broke my arm! At the very close of the season (this past summer/ fall) I built the Transition back up while my arm was getting stronger. Had a bit less than a month of timid riding before the snow came.  So, I think the frame is great shape really. I replaced the shock with a cane creek coil shock. This thing: https://www.canecreek.com/product/dbcoil-il/ It has the 600lb springs but replacement springs aren’t very expensive. I was frankly overwhelmed by all its settings. I’m sure I have it all wrong.  Wheels are in good shape. They’re by Velocity and the bike is set up tubeless. The rear wheel is actually brand new, only a couple rides. I broke the driver twice and Velocity got fed up and just sent me a whole new wheel! Rear tire is good and new, front is ok, side knobs are pretty beat from cornering. Rear is a 2.3 and that’s about right on this frame. I ran a 2.5 and that barely fit, if you cleaned off the mud in the chainstays you’d see the paint is rubbed off from that wider tire buzzing the frame on hard cornering.  Fork is a rockshox pike set up at 150mm with some spacer things in there to make it a bit stiffer. Again, I’m overwhelmed by that stuff. Bike shop did it. It was new for this last summer.  Dropper post is a 170mm one-up. It has always been a little sticky at full extension. There are some remedies for this I never really messed around with. Be warned though on that. It comes with some plastic thing so you can set the max extension… like you probably wouldn’t want the full 170mm of drop on this bike at your height so you can set it at 150mm or whatever. Since it is only stick at about the 160-170 range maybe setting it up around 150 or something would make that a non-issue. I have no idea how to do it but I’m told it is easy! For some reason I took the cable off and can’t find it. However, it uses just a normal shift cable.  Brakes are awesome. Had them for 3 years i think. Outside of some pad changes they have been flawless. The bike has internal routing for the cables but the rear is currently zip tied to the top tube. That’s from when I switched back from the hardtail and I didn’t want to have to buy a new cable.  Rear derailleur is the oldest thing on the bike. I keep assuming it will fail but it keeps on going. I think I’ve had that thing for like 5 years! Cassette is a couple months old. Chain is new too but I think I cut it a couple links too short.  If you’re sure you’re gonna run a short stem I might keep the stem from the bike. Its a Cromag hifi 50mm and I would just buy the same thing again.  Let me know any other questions!  Open for offers
