Just a short blog voicing my concerns about the hate on PB.My one true problem with pinkbike is the straight up unnecessary hate between bmxers and mtbers. I know I really shouldn't talk cause I've hated on mtber's before but really sometimes its deserved. Like seriously, on most occasions pinkbike photo comments become nothing more then school yard pissing matches between MTBer's and BMXer's. Every time a bmx photo gets P.O.D. MTBer's come out of the wood work to rip it apart for no reason even tho on most occasions BMX P.O.D.s are straight up hands down better then anything that a mountain bike P.O.D. will be. From my experience on this site most of the BMX P.O.D.s are actually tricks, and actually look nice, compared to the MTB P.O.D.s which either consist of a mountain bike turning a corner and throwing some dust up, or an MTBer falling in an awkward position.
My friend (bmxzach) recently got P.O.D. for a really well composed, well lit, great photo, and within minutes mtbers were flaming the hell out of it for no reason, and it was the first bmx P.O.D. in a while (13 MTB P.O.D.s were between his and the last bmx P.O.D., 6 of those pix in my opinion didn't deserve P.O.D.) and then the day after that there was another bmx P.O.D. which was awesome 2 in a row yay, and swiftly the mtb's came down from the mountains and flamed it as well. I don't understand why this has to happen, there is no bloody reason for it.
Honestly 78% of the members have to grow the hell up and stop hating for no reason, we all ride bikes, we all share the same passion of going out, hanging with friends and having some good sessions. I ride with MTBer's every now and then and I have no reason to hate on them, they're good people, so are BMXer's. I understand this site was created years ago to share the love of MTB, but times have changed and now it should be embracing both BMX and MTB, and pushing both our sports forward and not turning every conversation into a gigantic pissing match. I don't see why MTBer's have to throw it in our faces that this site is a MTB only site, it doesn't say it anywhere, and it never will, because I'm sure the creators love BMX as much as MTB, if not the actual riding of a BMX then atleast the idea of riding a BMX.
I don't see why you think you are so much more superior than us? Are you on two wheels? Are we? Yes we are so there is no difference, sure your bikes have suspension and you take them off big ass drops, but we do burly shit too, sometimes burlier shit than you guys. And really, If it wasn't for bmx, and the whole racing scene back in the 60's and 70's none of us would be doing the sport that we love.
So in closing shut the f*ck up, ride your damn bike and stop hating on us and we'll stop hating on you, spread the love and keep it rubber side down.
Me, not usually. But to somebody, that is the best picture they have ever seen. In the end it all boils down to preference. Photographic preference, bike preference, etc.... You can't just hate on something because it isn't your cup of tea. Just be a bit more open minded and try to find some artistic or educational value in it.
Here, let me put it to you like this. A wise man (you) once said (above) "we all ride bikes, we all share the same passion of going out, hanging with friends and having some good sessions" ....This is the open mindedness you need to perpetuate, not hate and blind criticism. Cornering, falling, riding ladder bridges are all part of biking whether it fits into your agenda or not.
I also think that having separate BMX and MTB pods would segregate the community even more.
Sorry to argue dude, I still have nothing but respect for you.
And as for finding artistic or educational value in the PODs its nearly impossible when they all look the same.
Henry Ford once said "you can have it any color, as long as that color is black" do you wanna live in a world where everything is black?
The pods only look the same when you are being closed minded and not even giving them a chance.
Black is not a colour.

not much difference except ones on a bridge and ones on rocks, the lighting is a lil better in the bridge photo thats about it
and 2 pods would be much easier because there are some mtbers that are just shit talking idiots, and same with bmxers, atleast with 2 pods you can pinpoint the idiots and deal with them, because there are definitely some repeat offenders in both groups
open mindedness will never happen, its bad enuff that 99% of everyone hates skaters, scooter kids and roller bladers, even tho they're pretty much doing the exact same thing we are, just with a different vehicle
and in my opinion segregation would be the best way to end the hate, kinda like splitting kids that are fighting up helps...some what
Like the last scene of Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.
