Aug 21, 2012Trek 69er with extras 17.5"
$1000 USDI love this ridiculous beautiful monster of a bike and I scoured Ebay and CL for years to find one. When I finally did swoop a local sale, it turned out to be too small for me. I'm 6'1" with long legs. I could try a longer seatpost, but I'd rather start a clean slate with a new project.
This is by far the most interesting thing Trek has ever produced ATMO. 07' was the only year to have the root beer finish and Maverick fork spec'd by Travis Brown. Because it was such an skunkworks project, it was originally pretty expensive for the materials at about $2400msrp, which is a bitter pill to swallow for a single speed that isn't even carbon. But it's light and stiff with the double crown fork weighing only 4lbs with 124mm of travel (locksout to 4").
With tubeless tires we'd hit 20lbs, lighter than my CX bike, and the geometry is perfect for everything from the XC to the all mountain trails at Duthie Hill and beyond. I've never done anything bigger than Ryans Flow and Voodoo Child at Duthie and I'm not really a fan of catching air, a rider with bigger balls could really take this to its potential. For the most part its a lean and quick cross country rig.The frame and fork are very clean and recently tuned at Downhill Zone in Seattle. The wheels are true and the Avid Juicy brakes are solid and clean with new pads. The only wear is cable rub on the fork and little gravel knicks in the usual places, but when its washed it looks new, and it rides new. This bike has been loved.
Light hydroformed "alpha red" aluminum.
Race Light Bontrager wheels. Tubeless ready. Tubeless ready tires included.
Size is 17.5 from seat collar to bottom bracket center. This is considered a small by treks crib sheet.
Maverick DUC 32 fork (3.9 lbs / 6" travel, 4" with lockout, adjustable rebound)- b>recently (as in less than 10 miles) overhauled professionally/b> with new seals and oilbr> and setup for a rider at 170lbs.
Recently repacked ISIS bottom bracket (my least favorite component)
Avid Juicy hydraulic brakes with new pads
32x16 gear ratio
Extra tires
Extra brand new front Maverick hub
Includes new RockyMount roof rack adapter for the oversized hub.
No pedals included with sale, sorry
Original color matched Bontrager saddle
bontrager misc seatpost, cranks and handlebars.
Misc locking grips.

I would only consider trading for large 19" single speed frame or complete. Niner, superfly, rig, stumpy ss, etc... But cash talks.
