Does It Matter Where Your Bike Was Built? - Pinkbike Poll
With bikes - that is a single engineers/fabricators job. If he/she has long experience in building and riding and a welltooled shop and highly trained fabricators - spectacular bikes happen. I liked what Intense did before they became just another brand. I love what Foes does. I respect Guerilla Gravity. I dont like Sweatshop catalog bikes passed off by brands as their own development. Its not just how its made but usually the concept is wrong.

Does It Matter Where Your Bike Was Built? - Pinkbike Poll
@snoopy24777: My Lexus never broke. My GMC Sierra never broke apart from the airbagsensors, speakers, light sockets, brakeline, bushingwear and various bits falling off - but then that truck lives on backroads, offroad, beach and in hot, salty, wet andhumid conditions with UV12. 10 years and still going strong. I drove a godawful S-10 330 000miles. Looked and drove like on the first day. Now my experience with VW...

Madison Saracen Reveal Team Bikes and Kits for 2017
@Zaff: Correct. Rear single pivot suspension works when braking. Its a non issue in reality. The advantages with a well designed single pivot: Its a much stiffer bike overall compared to wobbly 4 Links. The Sar translates somewhere between 2.1 and 2.3:1. That means running very soft springs 150-200lb and low pressure in shocks. That means I can dial my suspension much more accurately and the loads on all components is low, the ramp up range is large at 45% sag. 2.3 means its also very similiar to a good low pressure dual crown. Compare that to 4 Links which run 400lb springs and high pressure. Thats why I enjoy my Hydro/Emerald and the Saracen works exactly like a Hydro.

A Brief History of Formula's Disc Brakes
Had red ones and silver then two different colors alternating front and back. Lever mech wore out instantly too. But was worth tbe trouble because they were so much better than rimbrakes. 2mins of downhill, stop and cool off and they would last the season. Thanks Formula for making downhill possible in early 90ies.

@leelau: Not likely. They might swear. Gunmortality is extremely low.

Southerside alps are stellar but its full of people. Gets less once you cross the tree line. If you don't need audience its thousands of miles of single track and all mapped and signed with yellow hike signs. About as good as it gets.

Ridden and Rated: Six Tires for Rugged Trails
@daweil: :-) YT, and I watched them since inception, are catering to a group of german consumer magazines that are averaging out competition with their test point system. Its favoring the german assemby corps and not the consumer and it makes it difficult for foreign mfg to enter that market. Its an overtly marketprotectionistic mechanism. Similar practices in the car industry. It leads to a very special german product catering to a perceived superiority of german products. Remember those german bikes are catalog bikes made in asian sweatshops - just like their foreign comps. Thats why I do not buy german bikes and german cars. My last open performance car, sold it in Dec., had close to 500 hp and weighted 950kg and was as high as my knee cap. That was a performance car. From that spoiled perspective - I would not even consider buying a Pagani. It would be a step down. Bugatti is 3 GTI VR6 and VW Piech had his fingers in it - it must be broken..
