Ya i considered lopping off up to 2" off of the head tube. But i figured i ay trade this ride. & i'd leave it to the descetion of whom ever.

Why don't you cut the steering tube a bit, and remove some of those spacers?Although the headangle is not quite good w/ this fork, you should find some reducal headsets.
