4130 steel or 6/7000 series aluminum will eventually work-harden and crack from continuous flexing. Carbon doesn't.

A door hinge is a different kind of pivot made for a much larger range of motion than a small flex seat stay. Also, carbon can flex quite a bit. Just look at a carbon fly rod. They are designed for thousands of cycles of extreme flex, so I wouldn't worry about the carbon.
