the only problem i have with trying to get mad power out of something like an RB26 or 1JZ, is its a lot to do with computer tuning, and sensors and stuff like that...it depends on what you want to do with your car...if i was gunna do a drifter or a time attack car, i'd do a silvia, or a 240sx, or evo...if i was gunna be doing drag racing, straight line only, i'd take an american car with an america V8...carbed with a biiiiig blower...i was recently going to buy a 240sx and do a weekend drift car.

another thing i will say, an american V8 is a little better than a JDM one. i have a buddy that put a lexus V8 into his toyota minitruck, and another buddy who put a small block 350 in an s-10, both trucks are regular cab short bed trucks, fairly equal curb weight, but the s-10 leaves the 'yota behind everytime

i'm a car lover in general, i'm not arguing for foreign or demestic cause i appreciate vehicles from both markets, but one thing i will say is that a nissan engine at 270xxxKms, if taken care of, is far from dead...i personally have an '87 nissan pick up with 320xxxkms on the ORIGINAL motor. NEVER REBUILT. still runs like a champ. its almost impossible to kill a nissan motor...and i also just got rid of my pathfinder which had a 3.0L v6, that one had just over 200xxxkms on it, i bought it and was fixing it for a 4x4 project, the motor sat all year, never started once...i went to fire it up to move it last week, started first crank and still runs like a champ...after putting in clean fuel of course.
bottom line is that there are strong arguements for both sides...i used to be a hater, bit then i realized its a pointless fight...GM had an engine, it was a 2.8L v6, it came in the s-10s, and it was literally called the "iron duke"...it was indesrtuctable if taken care of...but all GM trucks are known for rotted cab corners and fender archs
toyota trucks are the same...heres a video from youtube from the guys across the pond on top gear...there's 3 parts to the video, i garuntee none of you have ever seen a truck get beat on harder...and i can honestly say a GM/chev/ford or any other north american trucks would ever survive this
