Video: The Riding in Downtown Zurich Looks Rad
@korev: @emi008: yeah I didn't get the joke. As for Basel, I lived in strasbourg for 5 years and I've spent quite some time in Colmar and Mulhouse, and I visited a "couple" of times Basel to see friends, museums and a lab. Maybe I was never there on the good days, but it was grey, the center is nicer than that of Mulhouse (it's not difficult, but compared to Strasbourg or Colmar it blows). As for the Rhine, it is nicer than in Mulhouse, but then zurich has the lake that is also pretty nice. And passing though zurich in train is not pretty either anyways, sorry I was a bit strong about it, I didnt really mean to offend baslers

uh? Basel is like the ugliest swiss city, it almost feels like you're in Mulhouse, but with everything more expensive. I mean, I havent spent so much time in Zurich so I can't really compare, but i'm really curious about what there is to like in basel

Trending: Mountain Bike Tech to Look for in 2019
@DrPete: my point was just that super gravity casings are almost similar to DH, but I have re-checked, and turns out the SG are lighter than I remembered, and that the surface of the tyre is also different from that of the DH (while I thought it was just a foldable version of the DH tyre).

@yupstate: I have problems only with the sidewalls, not with the knobs nor the base. But I have narrow rims (23mm inner) so it might also affect how the side is exposed or not to the rocks. And over here there are more roots than rocks so I can't imagine if I was riding rocky trails.

@colincolin: well if you're on Maxxis and you don't use exo then you're using DH casing ? So I don't get your point... since with Schwalbe, super gravity is just a foldable DH casing, just few grams lighter than the real "DH casing". Exo is fine for front tyres on mid travel bikes if you're smooth.

@colincolin: I used to think the same. But then I improved a bit. I'm still slow and I'm fairly light (70kg) but my rear Maxxis HRII in exo casing start leaking sealant from the sidewalls after 5 rides. Anyone heavier than me, faster than me, or riding rockier trails probably has to ride DH casing.

@K1maxX: exo is overpriced only on German websites because they get nice pricing from Schwalbe in exchange of selling Maxxis and Michelin tyres at full MSRP. If you buy your Maxxis tyres on French or UK websites, you get them for 10-15€ less and it makes them cheaper than Schwalbe.

Ridden & Rated: 8 Mid-Range Downhill Helmets
@Code98: form follows function. Every well designed helmet is made for a specific purpose/use. F1 helmet, climbing helmet, skateboard helmet, MX, and Mtb helmets are made in different ways. A mx helmet is not made to resist fire, a Car racing helmet is. A mtb helmet is designed to crash on soft and hard surface at "low speed", a mx helmet is made to absorb an impact at higher speed. Some brand (I don't recall the name) made some mx/mtb helmets, I'm not sure how they managed but there must have been a trade off somewhere.

Meanwhile pretty much everyone understood that MX helmets use different foams and combinations of EPS densities compared to that of mtb, and are therefore not as safe.

The 2018 Pinkbike Festive Gift Guide
@WAKIdesigns: you could have done it without the grand father thing but yeah, it's stupid to whine about hidden advertising when 99% of the readers (at least) understood it was advertising. Not so hidden, and not really a reason to whine.
