Unfortunately I have never bleed a brake before. I have been looking this topic up for days, I have debated installing the kit myself, but really don't want to spend $30 on the kit and screw up my brake even more. I have read that people installed it dead easy themselves, but then some people went to bleed and fluid wouldn't pass through. The used one would be from a friend so I'm not to worried about it, it would save me money but you do have a point.

Thank you. Do you know about how much a shop would charge for labour? I have been offered a black elixir 5 for $50 without a rotor and I think I may just take that route.

If you're ok with bleeding brakes then you can do it yourself just get a rebuild kid you should be able to find them for about twenty dollars or so. All you need is a circl pliers and the bleed kit. Plenty of guides around on how to do it. Buying a used one is a false economy as you could end up with the seals gone in that a week after getting it. Replace what's gone and know at least then that its done and you shouldn't have to worry about it again.
