hi guys. first I wanna present myself, i'm luis from Valencia (Spain). I have read much about demo 2011/2012 size but I will like to have your opinion. I bought in 2010 an Sx trail and use it as an enduro bike. but on september I started doing downhill, so im about to buy the new demo 1 2012. My height is 1,73 and on my SX I use size m which I find it perfect. I've also tried demo 2 2012 on size M and find it fine. although compared with my SX it doesnt move so good on turns and jumps. But I find myself very save at high speed compared with the SX. My question is should I go for size S or an M will be fine?
I also need to take into account that I buy a demo to increase my speed, though I'm starting with races and that here in spain downhills are not fast compared with world cup.
Thanks

^If you find the medium Demo comfortable enough get medium. Youre a little over 5'8", thats kind of in between a S and M in my opinion. But if youre racing, bet a medium will be a good fit.

I'm 5'7 and went for a medium on 11 and 12s I could have ridden a small but based how hard it was to resale my small 2010 I went with a medium. 10s and 11s have short TTs comparitively

Regular CCDB's wont work for the Demo, it require a special eyelet. If you didn't custom order it from Cane Creek, it won't fit.

I custom ordered my CCDB for the 2011 Demo to accommodate for this eyelet size difference.
It's the same reason why the CCDB Air won't work on the Demo right now.

Any authorized cane creek service shop can switch the eyelet out for you. The cost with rebuild was about 150.

Anybody know if a Vector Air has been tried on a 2011-2012 Demo?

How differently do the 2011's ride compared to the older supsension models like the 09's or 10's?

I rode the 09 demo and loved it, love the way it corners and goes over rock gardens.

Hello. I'm planning to buy a 2011 Specialized Demo 8 2 with red/white painting and with the boxxer wc, dhx rc4 etc.
I'm nearly 180cm tall and still growing. Now I'm using a 2009 Specialized Pitch Pro Medium with a 780mm boobar and I feel it a bit small. Should I go with size Large or Medium with the Demo 8 2011??

compare top tube lengths of your pitch vs that demo. The demo should be quite a bit longer.
