Got some volume spacers and hardware for the DB coming in, after that I'm gonna upgrade the wheels or drivetrain depending on which decides to blow up first.

wrong position of shock.

Isn't it on the bike?

You sure...theres no frame clearance issues and I can get to the adjustments with an L shaped 3 mil very easily. How do you think I should mount it?

It's mounted "correct" ... The shock doesn't care which way its mounted so clearance is the only consideration. That being said I almost always see it mounted this way with the adjustements forward and on top. In fact if you switched it around to the only other possible position here I think the shock would contact the top tub under compression.

I had to flip my Vector Air all ass backwards from how it was done with my Vector Coil because of the end of the stanchion in the Air wouldn't let the holes line up and shit. Only issue Ive had is the tinsiest amount of paint rub.

You've got it right. I suppose you could flip it around, but you'd increase unsprung weight for no reason.

Anyone happen to know the weight of the stock rims? I want new wheels but it might be worth it to just get new rims because the hubs spin just fine.

Well it isn't required that the shock is 8.75x2.75. It just won't fit, that's all.

Well okay, add "for proper function" Smile

8.75*2.5 or 8.5*2.5 could actually work, both providing less travel though (181mm, to be precise) with the latter dropping the BB by about 1.3-ish cm. Any longer than that wouldn't fit, and any shorter would likely make the upper link hit the seatstay.

So 8.75*2.75 is what you want Smile

Not sure if this is the right place for an answer to that question...

Oh crap guys im losing my mind on this one. I hope i dont get crucified for asking this some what similar question.. Just need to hear some opinions..

Ive got a status 2. I killed my van rc shock. I cant seem to get my hands on a 8.75 x 2.75 (222mm length) shock, but there are a couple of 240mm vivids which i can get immediately.

So anyones tried a longer shock on the status? I know im supposed to check if it allows the wheel to contact the frame upon compression, but I havent got a 240mm shock to try it out..
