Lopes 55 GT production model - released in 2007!

It is with great excitement that we announce the release of the Lopes 55 GT MTB special edition race bike.

The Lopes 55 GT will definitely get you some bragging rights; with a custom designed paint job, a special edition Lopes 4X Marzocchi fork & ODI grips that aren’t available to the public any where else.

This production model version of Lopes’ race bike is based on a GT Zaskar frame, designed with Brian’ 4X geometry. The Lopes 55 will first hit the European market on Dec./Jan. followed by its US debut in Jan./February of 2007.”I think it is one of the coolest looking bikes in the GT line & I am really happy with how it was put together” said Brian Lopes 3X World Champion

“The Lopes 55 is the closest thing to a factory works bike that we've ever offered. Some of the parts that are spec'd on this bike aren't even available over the counter. GT sells what it races and the Lopes 55 is proof of that.” Robert Kahler/GT Tech. Division

I have seen this bike in real life, as well as had a brief go on it and it is one of the most amazing bikes i have tried for a long time. Extremely lightwheight and it pedals like a XC race bike only with 4x/DJ geometry. very nice indeed

Hi, I'm here from the future. This bike still looks pretty epic, even though it's a day younger than I am

i think this bike is great, pacific seems to really be getting their shit together... GT and Mongoose both have killer signature bikes... i wonder how this frame compares to Mongoose's EC-H frame though?

(if you don't know what the EC-H is, go to the Mongoose site, look at the international 2007 EC-X, then go for the little zoom picture at the top left corner, and voila)

to caarel, lopes has been on a zaskar for years, he may ride a ruckus at times but his rull on race bike has always been a beefed up zaskar as far as his HT rig goes, look at any race photo's or ads over the last 6 years and on most he'll be riding that zaskar that thing looks killer, obviously it may not be ment to hit the local jumps everyday of the year but its nice, light and would be a killer race rig, since thats what its made for

This 55 edition sucks. Real racebike of Lopes have Easton Scanduim bar, fizik Nisene saddle, Ruckus HT based frame not zaskar based. This one is XC bike with 4X stuff. I think Lopes will change that bike after every race.

I think it's better the frame being based on Zaskar instead of Ruckus...this bike is built for 4x and it has to be light...it's a no-compromise bike

A great looking bike with a decent spec. Although does anyone know if this is another special edition or a high production bike.

it looks nice and it aperntly is extreemly light so it should work flawlessly but it does need to be tested before anyone buys it.
