Bergamont Hayes Components Factory Team are Back for 2015

by Ed Masters
Without Further adieu, it gives us great pleasure to announce that the one and only Bergamont Hayes World Team will be returning to the World cup for a second year. After a hugely successful year in 2014 which saw the team punch far above their weight thanks to stellar performances from all team members and for 2015 we are excited to throw some fresh faces into the mix.

Bergamont Team 2015

Ed Masters is back for another year as a rider/manager and couldn't be more excited to get to racing against the world's best. With an amazing qualifier in Cairns, backed up by consistent top 30 finishes throughout the series that saw him finish 33rd overall; both Ed and the team are looking to continue pushing the envelope both on and off the track.

I was so STOKED with how 2014 worked out for both myself and the team, and I'm super pumped to see what we can do and where we can take it. We've got a killer line up of riders, and I can't wait to let the good times roll!” - Ed Masters

2015 Team

Current Queen of Crankworx, Whip mistress and all round shredder Casey Brown is also back in the mix for 2015. Despite a few hiccups along the way Casey rounded out 2014 ranked 12th overall on the World Cup. A winter skiing in Canada followed by some summer shredding in Queenstown will no doubt make her a force to reckoned with in 2015.

I'm looking forward to another year with all the guys on our team. Nothing beats having fun with your mates, racing bikes and I can't wait to get back at it” - Casey Brown

Casey hits the Gambler Road Gap.

A fresh face to line up for 2015, comes in the form of New Zealand native and unofficial privateer of the year; Rupert Chapman. A regular on the NZ scene for a few years, Rupert threw his cards on the table last year racing the majority of the world cup season. With some great results along the way and an attitude that couldn't be any more suited to the Bergamont Team, we are stoked to have Rupert on board.

I've been friends with Eddie and Casey for a while now, so for us to all be on the same team is awesome. I'm keen to take my racing to the next level, and it makes it so much easier knowing that I've got the support behind me to do so. 2015's gonna be siccccckkk!" - Rupert Chapman

Rounding out the line up for 2015 is Australian junior phenom Max Warshawsky. Racing a few rounds in 2014 off his own back, Max netted himself some impressive results included a 6th place at Windham and a 4th place at the World Championships in Norway. With the right support of both the team and his new teammates everyone is excited to see what Max can do this year. Watch this space!

2015 Team

After a couple of sweet results last year, I've got the confidence and drive to make things happen this season. I'm looking forward to some good times racing and travelling alongside Eddie, Casey and Rupert. I've got a great opportunity here and I'm going to make the most of it." - Max Warshawsky

Look out for the team this year as they compete on the UCI DH World Cup, select EWS rounds, all Crankworx festivals and a selection of other races along the way. Feel free to come and say hi!

It's hard for Ed for being a rider and also a manager. I bet he'll find a hard time sometime to manage his team and manage his own ride.

Could to see this team back again, rad crew and great racers. They should a regular video edit, be a good watch I reckon. Surely Casey will finish in the top ten this year?

its really cool so many smaller bike companies have world cup race teams. Thats a pretty big financial investment, and its awesome that so much of the industry supports elite level racing.Especially with the fact that it can take a long time, if ever for riders to start breaking into the top ten, let alone the podium. props to bergamont and all the other companies for keeping WC downhill alive and healthy!

I went from Hayes prime pros to saints, the primes honestly stopped just as well and the levers are much more ergonomic. The pads lasted about 1/3rd as long as the Saints though.

I kind of miss them, especially the levers. But I don't miss changing pads every 4th ride.

I'm happy to see these guys back at it. Talked to them in Winterberg at dirt masters last year. Such humble people. And so much style...
