Trans-Rezia - The Ultimate All Mountain Enduro from August 21st to 27th. This 6-day enduro stage race takes in some of the toughest riding in the heart of the Alps, linking Italy to Switzerland. An all-star lineup of World Cup Winners and World Champions in Enduro, XC Eliminator and Downhill will face 360km of mixed terrain.

Riders may get a glimpse of this stunning view on stage 14.

We are proud to announce the inaugural Trans-Rezia All Mountain Enduro. Daria and Clive Forth (the guy who introduced enduro to the UK) have teamed up with Consorzio Turistico Valtellina Terziere Superiore, infamous for bringing the Giro d'Italia and Giro Rosa to the Valtellina region.

An international line up of Elite riders including:

Tracy Moseley - Trek Factory Racing
Tracy needs no introduction to regular readers, Multiple Enduro World Series Champion, World Champion Downhill racer, winner of the Trans Provence and a fantastic ambassador for mountain biking.

Jèrôme Clementz - Team Cannondale/SRAM
Jèrôme has a list of enduro achievements rivaled by few. He accompanied Tracy by being crowned the Enduro World Series Champion and is no stranger to the Trans format as he too won the Trans Provence in 2011.

Rachael Walker - Hope Technology
Rachael is used to long days in the saddle and technical riding; a regular on the podium at UK enduro events she has regularly competed in Trans events across the globe.

Denny Lupato - Team Cingolani Trek
A familiar face on the Italian enduro scene with multiple podium positions to his name. Denny has a long history in racing on challenging terrain. His cross country background (Italian Champion in his youth) combined with his technical riding skills will serve him well.

Nathelie Schneitter - ROSE Vaujany fueled by ultraSPORTS
Hailing from Switzerland the title 'World Champion' appears on Nathalie's race CV more times than we’ve had a cappuccino. Junior World Champion and Olympian at Beijing in 2008, multiple time Swiss XCO Champion, Nathalie has featured in the top 20 at EWS events over the last couple of years.

Simon Gegenheimer - ROSE Vaujany fueled by ultraSPORTS
Simon aka Moustache Man from Germany comes to Trans-Reza with a skill set developed in XC Eliminator. A bronze medallist in the 2015 XCE World Championships and 2x World Cup Winner in XCE, he’s sure to give the thoroughbred enduro riders a hard time.

Other top contenders include; Raewyn Morrison. Raewyn has exploded onto the EWS scene and will make the long haul from New Zealand to pit her skill and fitness against the mountains and competition. Joining her in the Elite female category is Rebecca Baraona from the UK. Rebecca has won UK enduro comps and held off Rachel Atherton in the 2015 RedBull Fox Hunt to be crowned RedBull Fox Hunt Champion.

We have a host of cycling VIP’s coming along to join us both on the trails and off to celebrate the launch of Trans-Rezia. The event will showcase the finest single track trails and stunning mountain passes in the region over 6 days of racing. We have combined the long haul of a Trans event with the speed and skill of an enduro race. Riders can expect high elevation riding and gravity fed special stages that pass through technical terrain.

The aptly named Sunny Valley above Santa Caterina.

Fitness levels will be tested as each day the riders have to climb anything from 1400m to 2500m covering an average of 70km in the process. A variety of uplifts including vehicle, chairlift and even a helicopter will each morning help the riders maintain elevation as they pass through breathtaking scenery. Thankfully superb Italian hospitality awaits in each stopover town, the riders will be treated to classic Italian cuisine and all the luxuries of modern hotels before hitting the trails the following day.

Wild remote trails link Italy to Switzerland.

The event kicks off with a clover leave design in Santa Caterina, Sunday the 21st is time to build the bike and collect your rider pack before dinner and rider briefing. Racing starts on Monday 22nd with four special stages around the area that link the riders to Bormio. Day 2 kicks off with an uplift and a further five special stages take the riders over the border into Switzerland and back into Italy for the overnight stop in Arnoga. Day 3 takes the riders through the well-established bike park in Livigno on their way to Val Poschiavo in Switzerland , they will face one of the longest stages in the event as they descend from the Bernina pass to Poschiavo town.

Testing times and time testing.

Day 4 kicks of with a repeat stage then it's back over the mountains into Italy and on to Grosio via four special stages and some of the longest link stages. Day 5 and an easy start using the Sentiero Valtellina to link to Tirano where the rider will be held at morning coffee before being sent in small groups to the helicopter. Two special stages link them to a well-earned lunch in Chiuro before they climb out of the valley and on to Aprica for a further two special stages.

Day 5 uplift...

We round up on day 6 with a clover leaf course design around the town of Aprica. Here the public will get a chance to get up close to the action with three special stages around town in the morning and the final stage of the day dropping the riders into the town center. There will be a small expo area and a chance for people to test various brands of e-bike throughout the day.

A series of bridges cross the snow melt from the Forno glacier

We have very few spaces open for the public to apply for, if you would like to compete in the inaugural Trans-Rezia All Mountain Enduro go to the website, download the pdf entry form on the Participate - Race page and send it back to us. Good luck…

This does look cool but a quick observation. Its a month from confirmation of entry to the race. If you have kids, you need at least 6 to plan around school holidays, family holidays and the 10 weddings you get invited to in that short period. Oh and to save up the £1200 entry fee plus getting there.

Most people who marry this year will probably marry again some years later, so no problem here. Tell them to marry in winter and your fine.

Appreciate its a bit tight for most people on the planning and saving front, we have been hard pushed logistically and for this reason we have kept the entry very small and exclusive with lots of guest riders pre signed up for what we are considering as version 00. This is just the start of things to come and we will be way way earlier with announcing entry dates etc for our 2017 edition. Lots of elites really wanted to race this year but already had commitments, they are looking forward to joining us in 2017. Keep following us, stayed tuned to PinkBike and hopefully we will see you in the years to come.

To be fair you get to go in a helicopter and it is for almost a week

Price is pretty reasonable for hotel accommodation compared to similar priced events where you're in a tent, would love to race this or volunteer next year.

Maybe next year if Britain is still afloat ????

Nah, the EU wouldn't take us! It's our own fault for electing such a bunch of twats for politicians and believing the bullshit that the media is constantly spewing out haha
