Yes. It's just impossible to get as much sensitivity as a coil with air, friction alone sees to that. They're not miles away but they're not as supple. Have you tried a ccdb properly set up,it's like butter with zero force to brake away. When I first built my v up I had air front and rear, after a couple of months I swapped to coils, difference on fast chatter was night and day.
yeah had stendec tuned it for the tranny, then he tuned it for the evil it was amazing yes, but the void sorry for me blew it away. And the idylle up front pissed all over the 40 floats for me in every way possible. turned me in to a bos fan boy lol. Personal preference but all the locals that i know here, swiss and french prefer the void to anything else and they are million times the rider i am ( thats not hard lol). if i was to get a v10 the void would be right on there.
Would never put an air shock on a Dh bike again, not denying they're good nowadays, but there a reason no one runs them for the wc's. Big hits they're good but reliability and suppleness is 2nd to coil.
difference of opinion dude, im never going to run WCs anyway lol. For me Void tis the prefered option. However the performance of the coil is never in doubt the void is on a par with the best of them.
Having been riding the Bronson, and having some pedals around on a few newmads, I don't see any issue with pedalling or climbing with a coil. I rarely use any pedal platform. New VPP is the tits.
Waiting to see what it comes stocked with first. All about getting the biggest performance improvement, and I rekon that would be on the nomad. The new v will probably come with latest vivid coil and they are already an awesome shock,so spending another grand on another shock that may bring zero improvement seems pointless.
I find the X to have really good small bump compared to other air shocks, (maybe not with VPP?) not full coil like but close. There is a compromise with everything.
