What size is your Float X? 216mm?
  • 3 0
Fucked if I know, but this with Ti gives me boner.

£350 waiting here for you if it is 216x63.

Also Ti is so much better than that yellow nonsense

As for climbing with a coil I'm with tangaroo, never use climb switch anyhow and I've never struggled with climbs on newmad.

not all air shocks are equal, bos void = what small bumps are you talking about?
  • 3 1
Air will never beat coil on small bump or plushness, regardless maker.
  • 2 1
got to disagree with you on this one. void removed every brake bump in the alpes. you ridden one?
  • 3 0
Yes. It's just impossible to get as much sensitivity as a coil with air, friction alone sees to that. They're not miles away but they're not as supple. Have you tried a ccdb properly set up,it's like butter with zero force to brake away. When I first built my v up I had air front and rear, after a couple of months I swapped to coils, difference on fast chatter was night and day.

yeah had stendec tuned it for the tranny, then he tuned it for the evil it was amazing yes, but the void sorry for me blew it away. And the idylle up front pissed all over the 40 floats for me in every way possible. turned me in to a bos fan boy lol. Personal preference but all the locals that i know here, swiss and french prefer the void to anything else and they are million times the rider i am ( thats not hard lol). if i was to get a v10 the void would be right on there.

Would never put an air shock on a Dh bike again, not denying they're good nowadays, but there a reason no one runs them for the wc's. Big hits they're good but reliability and suppleness is 2nd to coil.
  • 1 1
difference of opinion dude, im never going to run WCs anyway lol. For me Void tis the prefered option. However the performance of the coil is never in doubt the void is on a par with the best of them.

Cant wrap my head around this one! You having a DH bike should be enough, no? How would this climb! Me confuse...

Having been riding the Bronson, and having some pedals around on a few newmads, I don't see any issue with pedalling or climbing with a coil. I rarely use any pedal platform. New VPP is the tits.
  • 1 1
I'm seriously considering it. 2 issues, price €950 with ti coil and added lb in weight.
  • 1 0
 get it for the V10
  • 1 1
Waiting to see what it comes stocked with first. All about getting the biggest performance improvement, and I rekon that would be on the nomad. The new v will probably come with latest vivid coil and they are already an awesome shock,so spending another grand on another shock that may bring zero improvement seems pointless.

 DO eeet

The Ohlins has a climb switch and also with VPP I very rarely needed it on my Intense bikes or my Santa Cruz bikes

@ minty, what negative issues do you have with the Float-X? Would it be worth the cost, weight gain and poo looks???
  • 1 1
Only issue I ever really get with air shocks is small bump compliance. Same with any air shock.
  • 1 1
Probably not worth the cost, not sure on weight gain,I could probably deal with that. Looks wise with a Ti foil I think it'd look sweet.
  • 1 0
I find the X to have really good small bump compared to other air shocks, (maybe not with VPP?) not full coil like but close. There is a compromise with everything.
  • 1 0
Looks wise it is the shock design itself I do not like, Ti would improve it a bit but I cant get past that rez design.

 Sick!!
