A fully serviceable compression and rebound damper on the right side and a smooth air spring on the left. The system is the same as the fox float and so far feels identical as the fox. I lowered it to 140mm for my TBC double and added a nice progressive oil level so the fork will ride nice and plush with a firm progressive stroke!

Great input man! It's awesome to hear! If XC Suntour forks feel like it too and people get to know this, hopefully Fox will have to rethink their strategies and their Ti steerer-crown monoblocks will never come to production. I'm tired of this arms race. Big props for you man for that test!

Thank you mate! I went for a short ride this evening and was impressed. I feel like Im on my float. Its super smooth plush and ramps firmly. the internals are the same as the fox or the system is and was very easy to adjust. Now the long term test is the battle but, its very stout. Looks like a cross between a 36 and a 55 with some lyrics in the middle. Bottom line this fork is well wroth the money and super plush even with out the Kashima, ahhahahhahahaha! RidEOn

 what's the weight of it?
  • 1 1
Sorry didn't weigh it but its very light for a 180mm fork. I assume its about the same as the float 180mm. One this is for sure she rides very light and lively. the rebound is smooth and pops up greatly! RidEOn!

I will be coming up with a review of some new parts on my bike soon. Nobby Nic tyres, FIVE-TEN + low profile flats for XC, 1x10 setup, Shimano 10sp vs SRAM 10sp. (Sram x7 10sp shifters are such crap, X9 seem to be the same, and X.0 rear shifter only! costs more than XTR shifter + xt shadow rear mech! - I'm getting these!) though 10sp shimano chain require some hate...

I can also reflect a bit on how fast a pump track pumps up XC/trail riding performance. I think way better than any component.

Can we start a hype-independent review blog? Big Grin

 That would be cool man!
There are lots of parts out now that have too many hyped up comments for a simple application.
This hype is very misleading and people are being robbed for something simple.
However that being said the products are usually great just overpriced when taking in consideration the overall purpose of a product.
The 10 speed sounds interesting, I have been on 8speed for years and would love to lose the front mech as its cables are cumbersome.
I plan on getting a good ride in today to full test the potential of this inexpensive beauty.
140mm might be a tad too long for the double and might have to take her down to 130mm but, all within due time!

I would love open peoples eyes to the trueness of tons of products, one reason I bought this fork.
After riding the brand new 180mm float with the new fit cartridge and kashima coating(hype hype hype)
I see a fork 1/3 the price is just as good, lacking the highspeed compression its identical to my fox, hahhahahahahhaha

 @nikoniko

I am seriously thinking of getting a Durolux RCA to replace my old and tired Drop-off, but its too tall for my hardtail. How did you lower yours? Spacers? It kinda reminds me of the Kowa 160ss, air sprung, smooth, and good quality.

Plus, I like the DX logo on other models. You think its crap because its a Suntour? We got two words for ya!

 love this fork man!
All my recent videos on my double I have been rocking this fork.
Its smooth and would be a big upgrade from the drop off, trust me.

As for lowering the fork,
Do you see the air rod in this picture with the coil spring?
Thats the negative spring.
The top there is a black head that can be moved by taking out and moving the a small pin.
The fork is adjustable from 180mm down to 140mm.
I lowered my to 130m for my double by adding an extra 10mm spacer.

Please mail me if you have any questions man!

I was able to try out a Durolux twice and I was surprised on how well it ran. I had experience with the Durolux TAD. A good friend (who's a lot richer and a lot better in riding than me) told me to stay away, but I told him: Don't knock it till you try it. I'll keep it at 140mm if I can get one. Did you change the air volume when you lowered it?
  • 1 1
Yes, its very smooth brother I love mine! I don't know much about the TAD but if its as smooth as the RCA model then it should be great. As for the stroke at 140mm I increased the oil level to help make a nice progressive stroke. Im 200lbs and am running the fork at 90psi right now and love it. The compression I usually keep at 4-8 clicks in from full open! RideOn!

Hows the DX working for you now? I saw Bikeradar.com blasting the fork, saying its not for "hardcore use".
  • 1 1
Dude this fork is awesome! I love it! It rides like my Fox 36 and is very plush! Check out some of my videos and you will see it ride nice dude!

The dampner looks exactly like the one in my Marzzochi xc 600 air fork. I wonder if its made by the same manafacturer?
Do you take apart the dampner by unsrcewing it in the middle?
  • 1 0
Yes, the middle unscrews and you are able to overhaul the damper and change the oil.
Its 90% the same as the 55tst damper.
I have no idea if its made by the same manufacture but lots of forks share equivalent technology.
My fox 36 too has a damper that looks very similar and the internal workings are of course all the same idea!

This is one reason why Im totally confident the suntour products.
High quality at a low price!
ahhahahahahhah

i want to lower one to 100mm and use it on my dj bike. possible?
  • 1 1
 Yes, its very easy mate!
All you need is to lower the top out bumper from 180mm to the 140mm spot and add a 40mm spacer, this would lower the fork to 100mm.

Here is a video I made on how to lower the fork.
I talk about adding spacers to lower it to what ever travel you like.

www.pinkbike.com/video/215831

In this picture you can see the negative springs and the black top out bumper.
In between the springs and this bumper add a 40mm spacer made of pvc plastic pipe.

I now have it on my HT at 150mm

ahhh that's the exact technique i used to do my dj1's! and my argyle 409, it's just different cause there's no coil in those! just a question though, i read on chain reaction that they weigh like 2880 grams? seems abit much for a dj bike don't you think? i just really want 36mm stanchions but fox are too expensive!
  • 1 0
ah i was relating to a comment i put about domains haha!! i want to do this! would the duro lux make a good dj fork you recon?
  • 1 1
Sorry I lost you there but yes they would be great for DJ as you can make them really stiff with air. The domains are good forks but unless you get a stiff coil it will be too sluggish for DJ. The stiffer the spring the better.
