Crummy thing is Corsair now seems to be comletely in a state of time-freeze... Their web-site's still showing "mock-up" drawings of "futre bikes" from 2 years aro and the Koenig 7.8 doesn't exist acording to their web-site... Same too sause their bikes looked to be SICK... I hope they're doing well and gonna re-surface with some sweet new bikes, but now... well it seems like they;re gone the way of Evil bikes right now...
Holy crap, I hadn't been to their site in months... I just ahppened to go bakc to look after seeing this and there it is, "NEW SITE COMING"!!!!! That's awesome!!!!!
Oh so is Corsair now Hyper??? What I mean is did Corsair get absorbed into Hyper to ake their MTB line??? That would be great to see their bikes be available again... As I said above, I was pretty mummeb to have not heard a word about Corsair in forever...
The old 4 bar in a box linkage is going to be Hyper. Corsair are now using a single pivot layout. Hyper bought Corsair's designs. Atomlab bought the Corsair name and did new designs. In effect old Corsair = Hyper. New Corsair = a new company.
I agree with you, I've got one. The Konig's four bar linkage behaves like a single pivot anyway, just with more stiffness. According to Corsair's website, the frames Cam Zink has been riding this year are the new Corsairs like this one, rather than the old ones with the four bar linkage. I noticed at Chatel he looked to be riding the Dominion with downtube shock mount, and at Les2Alpes he was riding what looked like the old Konig. Didn't see stills though, only video. Maybe he was riding the Konig 7-8 at Chatel and the Konig 4-6 at Les2Alpes.
Even though the design has got a lot simpler, it still looks good to me. Factor in that the old Konig included a headset and shock along with that 4 bar linkage, I think the price of this new one has to be a measure lower than the Konig of old (if they are going to sell it without headset and shock as they originally stated).
