On an impulse decision to go ride and film after a few days of snow, Shaperideshoot and Alex Evans were rewarded with an awesome track and amazing light. Le Pleney, considered to be the Mecca of mountain biking, never disappoints, feeding the hungry with awesome amounts of roost and loam. Enjoy the latest edit, and the last of the dirt before winter…

 Cool vid.

....BUT "the mecca" of mountain biking???? Whistler would beg to differ.

as would squamish, pemby, the shore, kelowna, the loops....etc etc

BC IS bike mecca Wink

Big nuts on the gap jump in the snow. I've ridden some of the 'off piste' Pleney in the dusty summer and that stuff is steep (for me anyway). I could only get down it by squeezing the rear tire with my arse cheeks, so respect for doing that in the snow fellas.

several parts of that trail appear to be very steep.

Le Pleney in Morzine? If so then I really need to spend some time on the unofficial tracks as this looks nothing like the track I know!
  • 1 3
Well, some of it was on Hattock, which is not Pleney
  • 2 0
Not Hattock at all, only Pleney :-)

Ah the anti-skid crew is back! Been so long since I heard your whiny voices "Please, please don't skid! Pretty please".
Sweet vid Mr. Rey and great riding as ever from Mr. Evans. I'm still enjoying bone dry tracks over here Wink haha

God you're so lucky..my trails are covered in a foot of snow...and to all the anti skid people, you know it's fun to skid, and did you consider that he most likely fixed the trails afterwards?
  • 2 0
hahahaaa agreed. just thrash em' that's wut the trail is made for (well most of them that it is). I build my own trails, I skid and scrub everything, but nothing a shovel and a rake cant fix.

All these anti skid/slide idiots make me laugh , it's a f*cking DH trail guys , it's meant to get rough and rutted , I know you arent used to this with your butter smooth , over groomed trails.

Lol you know someone was gonna say it..

i didnt see any skis apart from the snowland, but iget you. skiding is just so much fun the day a learnd it i made progress that was 5? years ago, but you can also drift without skiding... the problem is with skiding hard i mostly turn to much wich makes me turn to rough and stops me, only using part of braking power some times helps that problem away.
sorry for the lame. typing but i crahsed my face yesterday and it was the 3rd time this month, need a new helmet

Wow didn't get neg propped and people agreed with me! Has hell frozen over? After much thought I've decided to call "them" the Anti-Skid Squad, it makes for a great acronym...
PS: Châtel has snow I'm just somewhere warmer at the moment Wink

Fix it once, ride it for a few years fix again. So what! DH the more f'd up the better. Come ride my trails they will hurt u before u hurt them. Haha.

I think my favorite part is how the ground is obviously frozen and likely just on rock solid. Sorry, don't think my rubber tires are going to be cutting into frozen dirt. Silly anti-skidders, go learn how to ride in the snow.

I love this video. Nice choice of music, it makes the video work for me. Also nice work with the editing. Cheers.

Awesome, step up and step down looking better in the winter than they did in summer!! Awesome video, awesome trails, awesome riding! Nice one guys.

hahahaha. So for muslim's that live in north america they are allowed to just decide to name a new mecca closer to them that is cheaper and easier to get to?? hahaha

The term 'mecca' should hold a certain definitive weight of designation. Not just assigned based on ease.

...again, sweet vid and riding. Im just arguing for fun. Smile

Well who are the contenders? Utah/Colorado, Alps, New Zealand & BC. Is there any other places I have missed?

I'm a bit desappointed though, I was hoping for AT LEAST, a nac nac or suicide on the final jump !LOL

 no bike sound... Frown

Because of the snow, the brakes were squealing really badly. We thought this detracted from the video, rather than added to it. Sorry. :-)

 顶,1;49坡好陡啊

Considered by whom exactly to be 'the Mecca of mountain biking'?!
  • 5 0
Most of European guys who can't afford a summer trip in BC... It doesn't have the magic of Whistler, or the same amount of trails as Squamish or Kamloops have, but still pretty tough. Especially because it's connected to many other parks and more natural trails all around the area !

Perhaps also by the people who could pay for 3 months of accomodation for the price of a flight to whistler. There is sooo much riding in the alps within driving distance of plenny. try before you judge boys
