Nicolai Saturn 14 XL, 130mm, full bike, mini GeoMetron

$2450 GBP
Selling my Nicolai Saturn 14 full suspension trail bike. 140mm fork, 130mm rear travel. Size XL. Long reach and wheelbase. Full 29er. So, what’s a Nicolai Saturn 14? If you’re reading this then you’ll likely already know what you’re looking at, but anyone unfamiliar should take a closer look at Nicolai bikes. Their Saturn 14 is their ‘trail’ bike with 130mm of rear travel, paired with a 130 or 140mm fork. Lovely engineered aluminium bikes handmade in Germany. I’m a believer of Nicolai/GeoMetron’s approach to geometry and the Saturn 14’s very much a “mini-GeoMetron”: same idea but less burly and less travel. Great modern geometry with a slack HA, steep STA, long reach and long wheelbase. It’s an ideal trail bike either alongside a GeoMetron (I also own one), or as a great all-rounder if you feel a GeoMetron’s too much for you. SUMMARY * Nicolai Saturn 14 full-suspension bike. * Purchased new frame-only by me in October 2021. * Size XL – geometry listed below. * Great condition – no dents, dings or major scratches. * Bearing replacement and fork service (October 2023) and only ridden twice since. * New, unridden rear shock. * Many new/unused parts – rear shock, dropper post, headset, wheels, brakes, bar, stem, grips, saddle and cables. * Everything involving a bearing is either new/unridden or very recently replaced (except the BB). CONDITION OVERALL * Well cared for by a competent adult (me) who knows how to use a torque wrench. * Well above average cosmetically (maybe 9 out of 10), but it’s a used mountain-bike hence has a few marks and scuffs. * Excellent mechanical condition (also 9 out of 10): some wear on the cassette, the chain is new/unused, there’s a few marks on the cranks and rear mech but all working perfectly. * Large number of new parts fitted ahead of sale and not ridden (highlighted in spec below). * Photos are a trye representation of both cosmetic and mechanical condition. * Assembled properly using a torque wrench, to factory specs. FRAME * Raw aluminium factory finish with black linkage and hardware. * All bearings replaced in October 2023 and ridden twice since. They didn’t need changed but I was chasing a creak which, typically, turned out to be nothing more than a worn shock eyelet DU bushing (I only discovered this AFTER ordering the bearing kit from Nicolai so I went ahead and changed the bearings anyway). Bearings are all extremely well sealed, so they’ll last for years even if used in mucky conditions. * No dents or dings or major scratches but it is a used MTB so bears some minor marks from use. * Worst frame marks are around the chainstay bridge caused by mud/debris around the rear tyre, a scratch on driveside chainstay below the protector, and a mark on the driveside seatstay. FORK & REAR SHOCK * Fork stanchions perfect and unmarked; lower legs have a couple of tiny marks. * Lower leg serviced in Oct 2023 and ridden twice since. * Rear shock is new and unridden. * New shock hardware and eyelet bushes. DRIVETRAIN & BRAKES * Overall good condition – used with small amount of wear. * Crank arms and chainring recently fitted with minimal wear/rubbing. * New chain fitted. * Cassette has some wear with plenty of use remaining – all-steel construction but still 400g. * Rear mech has a couple of scrapes which are cosmetic only. * Brakes are new/unridden - front was a factory bleed, the rear I bled after trimming the hose length. Firm levers with loads of power being 4-pots and 203/180 rotors. DROPPER POST * New dropper fitted for sale. * Lever upgraded to a Bontrager dropper – nicer feeling than the standard Brand X one. WHEELS & TYRES * Wheels are new/unridden - handbuilt by Superstar Components. * Tyres are partly worn – they’ve seen better days but still life left in them. * Set up tubeless with new Stans valves and Stans sealant – newly taped and not ridden, they’re holding air reasonably well but might take a couple of rides to fully seal. FULL SPEC * Frame: Nicolai Saturn 14, 130mm rear travel, 12x148 Boost rear end, 180mm post mount brake, 7020 aluminium, threaded BB. * Rear shock (NEW/UNUSED): Rock Shox Deluxe Select, 205x50mm giving 130mm travel. * Fork: Rock Shox Pike Select, 140mm, Charger damper, 15x110 Boost, 42mm offset, serial no 47T93614185. * Headset (NEW/UNUSED): Nukeproof Neutron ZS44/ZS56. * Wheels (NEW/UNUSED): Superstar Components V6 hubs (32h, 15x110 & 12x148, 6 pawl 54t freehub, XD driver, SKF custom sealed bearings) with Superstar Isotope rims (32h, 29mm internal width, laser-etched decals). * Tyres: Maxxis Minion DHF 29x2.3” EXO 3C MaxxTerra & Maxxis Aggressor 29x2.3” EXO. * Handlebar: (NEW/UNUSED) Norco Double Butted 6061 Alloy 780mm, 18mm Rise, 35mm clamp * Stem: (NEW/UNUSED) Norco 6061 Alloy 50mm Length, 35mm Clamp * Grips: (NEW/UNUSED) Brand X single-clamp lock-ons (not the Ergons which are pictured) * Shifter: Shimano SLX SL-M7000 11-sp * Rear mech: Shimano XT RD-M8000 11-sp * Cassette: SRAM XG-1150 10-42t 11-sp cassette, XD driver * Chain: SRAM PC-1130 * Crankset: Shimano Deore FC-M5100, 170mm, 52mm chainline, 30t chainring, 11-sp * Brakes (NEW/UNUSED): Shimano Deore BR-M6020 4-piston calipers with BR-M6000 levers * Rotors: Formula R1 Lightweight, 203mm & 180mm * Seatpost (NEW/UNUSED): Brand X Ascend 30.9 x 150mm with Bontrager lever. * Saddle: (NEW/UNUSED) Nukeproof Neutron * Seatclamp: 34.9 allen bolt up. GEOMETRY For size XL (official figures based on 130mm fork – they're very slightly different with the 140mm Pike that’s fitted) * Wheelbase: 1291mm * Top tube (effective): 668mm * Chainstay: 446mm * Headtube: 140mm * Reach: 519mm * Stack: 629mm * BB drop: 30mm * ST angle (effective): 76.4 deg * Head angle: 65.5 deg * Seat tube: 475mm * I’m 187cm and found it a superb fit but please see the figures above and work out yourself if it’ll fit you. VIEWING & POSTAGE * In-person inspection and collection welcomed from Falkirk (FK2 area), Scotland. * UK: collection preferred but I’ve got a box ready to use – I’ll use a 48hr service requiring signature on delivery, fully insured, at cost of £75. * Global shipping: I might be able to post this overseas, please contact me with address info and I’ll run a quote. Not likely to be cheap but it'll be insured for full value etc. As an example, fully insured postage to a German address came out at £180 or so when I ran a quote. * If you’re further afield or simply interested and want to know more before travelling, contact me and I’ll try to share a link to 80+ detailed closeup photos. If I’ve missed anything message me with your query. For background checks I’m on biking sites such as PinkBike, Singletrackworld, etc with username ‘a11y’.

UCI Announces 2024 World Cup Calendar
SSDT = Scottish Six Day Trials, for anyone wondering. Yeah, that'll be interesting for accommodation etc. I booked mine tonight for 3-5 May no issues but I don't expect that type of availability to last. Edit: I just checked and SSDT actually starts on Monday 6th May, so technically not at the same time. I imagine there'll be overlap between the events though with folk staying later for the DH and arriving early for the SSDT.

Norco Torrent A1 HT frame, XL, 29er, very light use

$195 GBP
* Norco Torrent A1 frame. * Size XL – Norco recommend for 182-193cm (5’11-6’4) * 2022 year model – identical to the 2023 model (unchanged). * Designed for a 140-150mm fork. * 29er wheels. * This is a modern-geometry hardtail with a long reach, slack head angle and steep seat-tube angle. Very confidence inspiring to ride and an excellent climber with that steep seat-tube angle. I rode it with a 150mm fork. * Rear end is 148mm Boost, seat-tube takes a 31.6mm seatpost stealth dropper routing, and it’s a normal 73mm threaded BB shell. The sale includes: * Norco headset (unused) * Norco seatclamp * Rear bolt-thru 148x12mm axle * Unused spare mech hanger * Driveside chainstay protector (Nukeproof ribbed, for your pleasure...) * Excellent condition – limited use, I mostly used it for pootling around with the kids rather than actual MTBing (I need a full-suss skill compensator for MTBing). * However, it is a used mountain-bike hence has some marks as you’d expect. * I protected it from cable rub in all the right places, and have left two pieces on the seatstays which will prevent rub from a rear Mudhugger. * Internal routing for rear mech, dropper post and rear disc – I’ve left outer cables in place for rear mech and dropper. * Paintwork ceramic-coated for protection (no, I’m not kidding). Paint finish is lovely: nicely finished and a lovely depth to paint. * I’ve owned this frame from new – I’m the original owner, bought new as a full bike in February 2022 and barely ridden. Photos reflect the true condition. * Selling as I’ve bought another, alternative hardtail frame that I don’t need... * I’m 187cm tall and XL was perfect – I had plenty of space to fit a 200mm dropper, leaving approx. 35mm of seatpost visible below dropper collar. * Final photo showing full bike is for information only – sale is for frame-only. The only marks on the frame are all shown in photos and are as follows: * Toptube driveside, chip in paint above the ‘e’ in ‘Torrent’. * Non-driveside chainstay, several scratches from storage / kids leaning their bikes against mine… * Non-driveide seatstay, small scratch just below where the clear protective film ends. * Toptube, minor scuff where bike rack arm clamped onto it (barely visible in real life left alone photos) Link to geometry: https://www.norco.com/bikes/mountain/all-mountain/torrent/2023-torrent-a1-ht/ * Reach 510mm * Stack 646mm * HA 64.0 deg * STA 76.0 deg * Chainstays 425mm *** Happy to ship within the UK at cost, using an insured/signed for service - this would be approx £12.00. ***

Geometron G15 frame, size XL (Nicolai)

$850 GBP
* Geometron G15 frame * Size XL (Extra Longest) * Model year 2018 * 29er * Boost 148x12 rear * Factory raw aluminium finish with black linkage etc * 145mm rear travel * Suitable for a 150-170mm fork If you’re reading my advert, it’s reasonable to assume you already know all about Geometron bikes. If not, please see: https://geometronbikes.co.uk/bike-archive/g15/. Condition I’d describe as very good, with the caveat that it’s a used mountain-bike with some minor signs of use. Overall cosmetically it’s in good condition – being the raw finish you can use a mild scouring pad to refinish the frame. New toptube decals fitted approx. 8 months ago. No dents or dings, just a few usual battle scars which I’ve pictured. Mechanically it’s perfect: bearings were new just over 12 months ago and still feel perfect now – according to Strava I’ve ridden it for 550km in the 12 months I used it. Only selling as I’ve replaced it with another Geometron – a G16 this time. This G15 was my first Geometron and was a revelation in having a bike that fits me properly after years on frames that were simply too small. I’m now a convert to the Chris Porter school of geometry! I’m 187cm and was on the bottom of the recommended sizing for this XL and it fitted very well. The frame’s sat in my garage since building up my G16 so it’s time to move it on. Hopefully that’s covered everything. If I’ve missed something let me know your queries. Sizing info: * Top tube length, actual: 686mm * Seat tube length: 500mm * Seat tube angle: 76°/77.2° * Head tube length: 130mm * Head tube angle: 64.5° * Reach: 535mm * Stack: 637mm * Chainstay length: 445mm * Fork offset: 51mm * Standover: 791mm * Wheelbase: 1341mm * Recommended rider height: 188-200cm Specifics – for info: * Requires a 216x63mm (8.5x2.5”) rear shock. * Headset is a standard ZS44/28.6 upper and ZS56/40 lower * BB shell is 73mm BSA threaded. * Seat tube takes a 30.9mm seatpost. * Rear end is 148mm Boost. * Rear brake mount is PM180. Note: * Asking price is collected from Falkirk/Stirling area. *I can post within the UK at cost (£43.25) sent fully insured, requiring a signature on delivery.
