Video: Beyond the Bike Episode 2
Its a shame, that these kind of things exist, but theres not much you can do about it. When Bearclaw mentioned the start of hes career, and how he had to build all the stuff to make him able to ride something, that kind of touched my heart, becouse here in Hungary that sort of thing is as common as breathing. We had to built an entire trail so we can use our bikes with my friend, we did an insane amount of buildtime on the trail, and it was destroyed twice by local gypsies. When they needed firewood, they just took it from the jumpers, and from other obsticles, and when they didnt needed firewood, they just destroyed it anyway for fun.. Thats just how some country is :( planning to leave this year anyway.. :/

Opinion: Friends Don't Let Friends Ride E-Bikes
They are not completely useless. Think about a family, where the father and son rides together , but the mom has some kind of disability, but dont want to stay out of the fun. Or think about it, what if you want to ride together with your old parents, who cant really keep up, or go longer distances with a normal bike, but also dont really want to get hit by a car on the roads. Or what if the complete opposite happens, where you are the father, and your kid is a lazy dumbass who cant keep up, becouse the idiot eat too many hamburgers. Or what if the local forestpatrol is a psycho, who wants to get you and you do need that extra boost sometimes. Or what if you are a really wealthy e-bike retailer, who goes bankrupt, unless someone buys your stupid bikes.. So theres many reasons :) But one thing is for sure, dont count yourself a montainbiker, if you have one of these.

Wolf Amongst The Sheep - Story About Your Neighbour's $20,000 Problem With Stolen Bikes
even so, you should be glad, that something like that happens so rarely. It could be worse, like in Hungary, a really large group of people does the same thing, but go even further. For example, they buy cracked, or welded frames, refurbish them, repaint them, and then sell them as new or slightly used trough the internet. A lot of people buy components, creates false , photoshoped pictures of it, and then sell them the same day they bought it under a false name or address, making huge profit on it. Or there are those people , who doesnt even care , if the component or bike he is trying to sell is multiple time overpriced, becouse these people are trying to make profit on kids, or very beginners in the sport. So be glad that something like that is a one time only stuff, and that you live in a place where something like that is so rare that it is fascinating to read about it..
