Trek Travel, an active vacation company specializing in cycling vacations, has teamed up with Whistler-based Big Mountain Bike Adventures to offer four new mountain bike trips in 2016. New itineraries will feature epic mountain biking in Peru, Iceland, Switzerland and Whistler, British Columbia. “Big Mountain has an established reputation for offering incredible mountain biking adventures to some of the most fascinating parts of the world.” said Trek Travel President Tania Burke. “By combining their mountain biking experience and established relationships in those parts of the world with Trek Travel’s logistical expertise and fleet of Trek mountain bikes, we can offer a complete experience for those who want to explore new parts of the world on a mountain bike.” Each mountain biking excursion will feature a maximum of 10 guests with two guides per trip and include full suspension Trek mountain bikes at no additional charge.

Iceland, 6-days, 5-nights
With its rolling hills, mossy lava fields, steaming fumaroles, and bubbling hot mud baths, this hut-to-hut Icelandic backcountry journey is a trip-of-a lifetime for mountain bike aficionados looking to experience an other worldly environment. Set along the remote and rugged south coast of Iceland, mountain bikers are rewarded with distinctive Icelandic trail conditions and tempting mid-ride dips in hot springs and natural warm rivers. Highlights of this six-day adventure include a ride along Eldgjá, the largest volcanic canyon in the world, and an exhilarating single track descent from on top of the Bláfjöll mountain range. After a day of riding, guests retreat to historic mountain huts to savor locally source meals and discuss the days adventures.

Priced at $4,100 per person and featuring stays at Mountain Hut Hólaskjól, Alftavatn Hut and CenterHotel Klöpp in Reykjavik, this six-day, five-night group trip is offered on July 3, 10, 17 and 31. Daily rides between ten and 30 miles a day with up to 2,300 feet of climbing and 3,100 feet of descending.

Peru, 7-days, 6-nights
High altitude mountain biking through Peru’s remote Andean villages and a trip to Machu Pichuu, one of the seven wonders of the world, are just two of the extraordinary highlights of this South American adventure.

Breathing in the thin air while climbing up to the ancient Inca sites of Tambomachaya and Saqsayhuaman, riders will be rewarded with magnificent views of the Andes along long descents into Cusco, situated just above 11,000 feet. The adventure continues with epic rides into remote areas of the Sacred Valley and climbs through the tiny towns of Patacancha and Huilloc, ending in the village of Ollantaytambo. Guests will have one day to explore Machu Pichuu before embarking on a final ride along an ancient Inca route high above Sacred Valley.

Priced at $4,100 per person, based on double occupancy, the seven-day, six-night trip is offered on October 2, 9, 16, and 23. Guests stay at the Mamasara Hotel and Inkallpa Valle Sagrado hotels. Daily rides from seven to 20 miles with up to 2500 feet of climbing and 7,700 feet of descending.

Really awesome. I've filed it under "stuff D.I.N.K.'s do" for when we are empty nesters...

Actually they include the bike that you choose. It looks like they give you a brand new bike and then you have the option to buy the bike. Not a bad idea for a big brand!

are you guys endorsing things or still somewhat "free from advertisements". sure looks epic... but.

I like Trek bikes just fine, but their travel division is a total flop. I applied to work for them a few years ago and their management are apparently incompetent and treat their employees terribly. Big Mountain sounds good, but anything with Trek Travel, count me out.
