Apr 15, 2022Norco Fluid FS 20in kids bike,LOTS of upgrades
$1200 USD2019 Norco Fluid FS 20 inch bike. I've replaced/updated almost every major component of this bike to make it lighter and more durable for my son around the block and shredding at Trestle. This bike is set up to tow your kiddo to the top of a trail like Green Mountain--or take the lift at a bike park--and ride anything and everything that your 5-8 yo can handle.
Fork: upgraded to the Suntour XCR 24 80mm fork--lighter and more adjustability. The original RST First 24 60mm fork was frankly just garbage and not designed for Colorado trail riding. This fork as less than 60 miles on it.
Shock: Rockshox Monarch R--OEM
Brakes: Tectro hydraulic Jr: upgraded to the 2021 version--better reach, modulation and stopping power. Recently bled and serviced
Wheels: both wheels were completely custom rebuilt with better hubs and stronger, lighter spokes. The Novatec alloy OEM hubs were slow, noisy, and heavy. We upgraded to SLX in the front (with a new Shimano rotor) and XT in the rear. We retained the original Alex rims which are 19mm internal width.
Tires: This bike came with the Maxxis MaxDaddy 2.0 tires, which are good for street riding but terrible for the trail. These have a relatively new set of VeeTire Co Crown Gem 2.25s front and rear, which measure the same width as a Maxxis Minion 2.4 on this rim. I will also include a spare set of Maxxis Holy Rollers.
Shifter: This has an upgraded Shimano XT 10spd shifter. The bike has the original 1x10 Deore derailleur and cassette.
New cables and custom orange cable housing was installed. We upgraded the grips for smaller hands.
The rest of the parts are OEM, which can be found at this link:
https://www.evo.com/outlet/mountain/norco-fluid-20-fs-complete-bike-big-kids
It is in excellent condition but the paint has the normal scratches and chips from any kids bike. Original MSRP was $2299 before upgrades, here is the link to Norco's site:

Located in the Denver, CO area. Willing to ship. Buyer pays shipping.

East Bound and Down: Auburn, Alabama
I'm from Alabama and now live in Colorado. I LOVE going back to Bama to ride because I joke that it is like the west was about 15 years ago: an emerging scene of passionate bikers, craft beers, and ingenuity with relatively limited terrain but without all of the crowding and trail conflicts you have in places like CO and CA. In many ways it is better because the bike tech is far better than it was 15 years ago, and there is a genuine feeling of southern hospitality. Hikers stop and marvel at bikes, and everyone is way more friendlier to one another. Alabamians respect others' rights to enjoy the outdoors, whether it be hunting, hiking, fishing, or shredding and it is refreshing to see that when there is so much animosity in more densely populated areas like metro Denver/Golden/COS or a lopsided view of trail-sharing like there is in Boulder. There is excellent riding in AL, GA, TN, NC, and FL for sure and worth the trip...just don't go in the summer unless you like riding in a sauna :) Great article!! Nice to see AL represented...I've been following the work at Chewcala and cannot wait to get down there someday and ride it. Roll Tide (and War Eagle) !
