Highland Mountain Bike Park has partnered with the Freeride Mountain Bike Association to host the 3rd Annual “FMB Spring Training Camp presented by Ayr Academy” June 18th-22nd.

In addition to the pro riders, mountain bike media outlets will be in attendance to document the progression (and inevitable antics) that will ensue. Red Bull Media House has come on board as the official media outlet for Spring Training and will be filming for shows to air during the 2014 FMB Season.

“Training is a huge part of Highland's mission, from the top riders in the world to brand new riders we strive to make Highland a place to progress. We are really excited to host some of the best athletes in the world to come train and push our sport to another level,” says Highland’s VP of Business Development Dave Smutok.

Highland’s facilities have always been a pro circuit favorite and Pro Rider and Ayr Academy Coach Tyler McCaul agrees; “Highland is the best place on earth for an FMB rider to hone their skills, and Spring Training is the time we get to take advantage of those assets. From DH trails, foam pits, airbags, and even a full on competition level slopestyle course, they have everything we need to progress and dial in our tricks.”

Spring Training will close out Saturday evening with a Best Trick Contest on Highland’s signature feature “Freebird” located at the base of the world famous Claymore Challenge Slopestyle Course- riders will throw down to see who learned what during training and just to make things more interesting some cash will be up for grabs. The public is welcome to attend and cheer on your favorite riders!

The FMB World Tour is in its 5th year and since its inception the level of riding and talent has increased tremendously. There’s a key reason for the rapid progression; athletes around the globe have had to step up their competitive game in their bid for World Tour points and Champion’s title.

The flow trails there are like crack...they're so addicting. I haven't ridden there since Sunday and I'm having withdrawals. I almost skipped work today to get some laps in today. I've become a bike park junkie.

I was also there recently, and it was very good. What they do with that little mountain is just amazing. They deserve a reward for being so awesome. Its a tiny little mountain, but its easily one of the best "freeride" parks ive seen. Im leaving east coast, for Jackson Hole, and we may have more vert in our bike park, but the hits arent as gnar. This feels like a mini whistler. The man-made features are top notch, and what natural features they do have are exceptionally taken advantage of. Going there just once, made me a better "freerider".
