JIB from 2002 captures the brief period where urban freeriding was at its peak. Mountain biking without mountains, as director Thor Wixom put it. The trend didn't last long, but it was spectacular while it did. Lots of broken parts and one of the best crash sequences ever. (Video posted with permission of Thor Wixom.)

Each town in British Columbia seems to offer better singletrack than the last one visited. To prove what’s out there Dave Roth and Seb Kemp cycled, on mountain bikes, from Whistler around the Strait of Georgia, stopping in Squamish, the Sunshine Coast, Powell River, Cumberland, Hornby Island, Parksville, Duncan and Saturna Island.

Don't give your entire $24.000 savings account to charity, abandon all your possessions and hitchhike to Alaska without telling anyone, but for the love of God, don't waste all of your precious time fighting over wheel-sizes, strange marketing moves or economic materialism. Make sure most if it is time well spent: on your bike, in the wild.

During the early part of 2013, Ground Effect took on a project to extend to the Drac' Flat Track at Craigieburn Forest Park, an hour and a half west of Christchurch in the foothills of the Southern Alps, New Zealand. A bunch of Ground Effect staff and customers gathered for the weekend and crafted over 2km of fresh singletrack. It is outrageously good mountain biking in a stunning location.

The winter time is ideal for our riders to train with a nice South Pacific sun. Thanks to our distributor in New Caledonia, Nico QUERE and Remy ABSALON had a chance to discover this island. Our two buddies show us their complicity and brilliantly illustrate that one rider is already good but two or more make it definitively better. A hymn to friendship axed around biking.
