Easton - Ask Us Anything
How did you guys balance stiffness and strength for handlebars? I currently have a OEM handlebar which has quite a bit of flex and my mates are raving about the stiffness of their aftermarket bars. I know that if something is too stiff it is more likely to brake rather than bend. I'm sure your bars are strong enough not to brake so I guess the real question is to what extent does flex/stiffness indicate handlebar strength.

Pinkbike's Burning Question - Should You Support Your Local Bike Shop or Buy Online?
It's pretty simple but unfortunate, my LBS cannot get the specific things i want. Thanks to the internet i know exactly what i want to buy and it's always something they don't have in stock. I admit riding DH in this flatland might not be the best idea but that's the way it is. If i do ask them if they could get a hold of the product it is quite difficult and they'll take a few days to get back to you if they even do. Then the price is adjusted accordingly as its probably a part that isn't even in the warehouse in this country. So it turns out being too expensive. One other thing i hate about buying in a LBS is that most of the time you know more about the product than the people working there.
On a side note, even if the LBS doesn't know how to deal with a problem. In my case it was whether to route the cable's through the stanchion and the frame or around the stanchion. They routed it around the station and it was too tight causing deep cable rub on the frame and the station after just one ride on my new bike. Then you blame yourself that you didn't notice they routed it the wrong way around and went for a ride. If the internet is the problem for them loosing sales then they could certainly use the internet to their advantage too. You just have to google a DH bike and you'll see how the cables should be routed.

Who Will Race World Cup DH For Specialized Next Year?
It's quite likely Mitch will be riding for them but i don't think that will be their top contender.
