I am really stoked to hear he is riding again! He is one of my favorite riders to watch shred and he seems like a real chill dude also. Hope you are back to 110 percent soon Darren!

It's very inspiring to hear athletes of this caliber coming out and sharing their apprehensions and physical/mental struggles in front of a camera. We're conditioned to believe these guys get up after a hard hit and they never feel pain, frustration or fear like we do.
The reality is, these guys would never have reached the level they perform at if they weren't precisely in tune with their body's limits and abilities.
I've seen so many friends turn a relatively minor injury into a season ending (or longer) injury because they wanted to prove their doctor's wrong and show the world just how tough they were. Then a sprained ankle turns into a torn ACL because they hit the trails a couple weeks too soon. Now they're off the bike for the entire season while they recover from a very painful surgery that could have been prevented if they had just taken care of their bodies like the pros do.
Kudos to ya Bear. On a different note, does anyone else see a slight resemblance between Bear and Slash, or is it just me?

I know that feeling - I've got spinal disc herniation and I could'nt do anything like 2 month. After that I had another 2 month of rehab and after another month I could start to ride my bike. Not the kind I want because every time I've been trying to ride dh or fr my back start to hurt in like 30 minutes... Right now I'm still training my lower back every single morning but still I cant ride like I was long time ago:/ (it's 1,5 year now). Back problems realy suck
