if you haven't seen it yet, you should now. After a few rides now, I've decided to post this thread since I can tell more about the bike and the components. If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask!
SPECLIST and WEIGHT
Chassis - Frame: 2011 Santa Cruz Nomad carbon with RP23 and stock seatclamp = 6.06lbs / 2.75kg - Fork: 2012 Fox Talas RLC FiT 160mm tapered = 4.75lbs / 2.11kg - Headset: 2011 Cane Creek 110 ZS49 top and Cane Creek 110 EC49 bottom = 0.32lbs / 0.15kg
Absolutely amazing build. And that thing could be even lighter if you really wanted.
I will not share the exact price I paid, but I can tell you that I have a normal job (nothing fancy, nothing underpaid either) and I worked 8 months while paying my bills and going out in weekends, doing stuff, buying presents for my friends.. to afford this baby.
I could have gone lighter, yes. I didn't because this bike is lighter than my previous bike (Specialized Enduro SL 2007) and is a lot stiffer, the suspension is much much better, the shifting couldn't be better and it accelerates much faster. I think all those advantages, in addition to some weight saving (0.8kg / 1.7 lbs) are more than enough for me to justify the hours I worked for it. I could leave the dropper post to gain some weight, but it is very usefull for my riding style since I like to climb and also go downhill. If weight was my concern, I shouldn't have bought a Nomad in the first place. A Scott Genius would have done the job then.
The Nomad is an all time favorite of mine. I was obsessed with it when it was introduced. I cant imagine how nice that must ride. Those wheels are what really grabbed my attention. With hoops that light, it must accelerate like a bat outta hell.

Glad to see we feel the same about the Nomad . The wheels help a lot! That is not good for training, but I guess I'll just have to give it a 110% instead hehe

That is SIMPLY GORGEOUS, what did it cost if you dont mind me asking...
Not something I need to remember but tobe honest it wasn't as bad I thought - all parts from CR and a few specifics out of the US. Got the frame at Santa Cruz list price which I was happy with being in Australia.
Have built all year so the pain hasn't been too bad!
COst me about 75% of what my Nomad 1 with XTR cost me in 2006!
