I was unaware it came with a floating brake.

I just checked...didn't see one. My bad!

The floating disc brake is offer as an option for additionnal 200$. It's a carbon fiber bar mount on bearings.

Ha I was right.

Yep you were. All the demos and prototype that we've seen on the world cup with Beaumont use floating disc brake

Alright, what single pivot needs no extras on it to get rid of brakejack?

u dont necessarily need to get ride of the brake jack just learn how to manage it. but there are single pivot bikes that dont need a floating, the orange sub 3, has 3 inches of travel does not need a floating.

It'll still have brake jack, just such a small amount you barely feel it, as it has 3 inches of travel.

i use to think exactly like you do, then i rode a high end single pivot and my concept changed. i rode a 224 without a floating and i dont regret it one bit, the next frame i get if its a single pivot and it has a floating i will take it off

True abd the old Giant DH Team was one...it squated slightly during braking. I did try a floater on it..but in the end liked it better without.
